    Advert Fire CadetsWant a new challenge?Want to gain recognised qualifications?Are you aged 13 to 17?Then come and join Cadet Scheme at one of our units.Derbyshire Fire Cadets is an ongoing programme where young people commit to attend one night a week at one of our units during term time.The programme provides young people with an insight into working within a uniformed service. It provides exciting and unique opportunities to develop skills in team work and citizenship through undertaking firefighter activities.Cadets have the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications including Duke of Edinburgh awards and First Aid.Recruitment for our units is ongoing, once you have submitted your application form it will be added to a waiting list for your chosen unit. If and when a space at the unit becomes available all applications on the waiting list will be assessed and the highest scoring applicant will then be offered a place, with start dates in January, April and September each year. Please ensure you complete the application form in full and to the best of your ability to give you the best chance of being successful in the application process. The Cadet units run at the following times and locations:Shirebrook Fire Station runs on a Monday from 18:30 - 20:30 hoursChesterfield Fire Station runs on a Tuesday from 18:30 - 20:30 hoursIlkeston Fire Station runs on a Wednesday from 18:30 - 20:30 hours Ascot Drive Fire Station runs on a Thursday from 18:30 - 20:30 hours

    If you are hands on in a financial environment and have great communication skills we want to hear from you.An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Finance Team - to be part of the team that provides efficient and effective financial support and data to all sections of the organisation in a professional manner.

    You will be efficiently and accurately processing invoices and claims in accordance with agreed processes, procedures and deadlines in the organisation’s financial systems. The Finance Team works across all Ledgers including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger. The role includes working with the Agresso/Unit4 Business World Integrated Finance System, Microsoft products including Excel, Outlook & Word and travel booking systems to facilitate many aspects of the role.We strive to improve and be as effective and efficient as we can delivering to tight deadlines.Please see the attached Job Description/ Person Specification for more information about this exciting role.Required Qualifications and Experience:To be successful in this role, you will bring the following qualifications and experience:You will have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s (Grade A to C) or Grade 4 and above or equivalent including Maths & English.
    Recent & significant experience working in a finance office
    Be able to demonstrate knowledge & understanding of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functionality; processing invoices, raising sales invoices and recording income
    Dealing with customers/suppliers

    Our On-Call Firefighters are members of the community who are paid to respond to a variety of emergencies. They face all kinds of challenges from floods to road traffic collisions; they also inform our community about fire safety and prevention. They are notified of an emergency call via a personal pager, which they carry with them when they are on duty.You must be aged 18 at the start of the training course.Can you:
    Attend the training night on station on the allocated night each week?
    Provide on-call availability between 60-120 hours per week* and be able to reach the station within the specified response time (usually 5 minutes)?
    * Typically, we are looking for people that can offer daytime midweek availability.There are 3 training courses per year (subject to candidate numbers). All trainees must attend the full course. Some of our On-Call Firefighters are in full-time employment with agreement from their employers to leave to attend an emergency call. If you are employed, you must have the permission of your employer to be an On-Call Firefighter - even if you are not responding to fire calls whilst at work.Due to the sensitive nature of the duties that the postholder will be expected to undertake, a basic disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service will be sought for successful applicants.Throughout the year we accept registers of interest for all 27 stations which employ On-Call Firefighters.
