    Electrical Switchgear Academy The Assured Skills Electrical Switchgear Academy with Vertiv provides industry-leading training and will prepare you for a role in the electrical installation sector. This Academy will be delivered in partnership with North West Regional College (NWRC). Training The Electrical Switchgear Academy with Vertiv is an eight-week training course providing practical knowledge and real-world experience required to work in the sector. Training will include five weeks intensive training at NWRC and three weeks on-site training in Vertiv at Campsie Industrial Estate, Derry-Londonderry. Participants will receive a weekly training allowance of £180 for the duration of the Academy, as well as help with travelling and childcare expenses where people qualify. Successful applicants to the Academy will work towards a Level 2 entry level qualification in Electrical Installation (EAL) for work in the electrical switchgear sector. Those who successfully finish the course are guaranteed an interview with Vertiv for a permanent role as a Junior Panel Wirer. An interview is not a guarantee of a job. Offers of employment will be solely at the discretion of the company following the interview. There are 16 places available at the Academy with the potential for a job with Vertiv for all 16 participants. Applicants must be available for the whole of the training period. The five weeks of training at NWRC takes place on weekdays from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. The three weeks of training takes place at Vertiv from 8. 00 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Thursday and from 8.-00 am to 2.30 pm on Fridays. Training The AI and Data Academy with EY is fully funded by the Department for the Economy and delivered in partnership with Belfast Metropolitan College (BMC). The Academy is an eight-week intensive training course and will take place onsite at BMC campuses along with some online tuition. Candidates selected to join the academy will receive practical skills, training and industry recognised qualifications in areas such as: DevOps SQL and relational databases Python PowerBI Large Language Models and Agentic AI Databricks Those taking part will get a weekly training allowance of £180 for the length of the Academy, as well as help with travelling and childcare costs where people qualify. If you successfully finish the course, you will be guaranteed a job interview with EY for a Technology Consulting role. However, successfully finishing the academy is not a guarantee of getting a job. Those selected for the Academy will study accredited training modules covering: safeguarding first aid fire safety food hygiene manual handling The academy training will develop sector relevant skills including play facilitation, observation techniques, storytelling, and child development inclusive practice. Supervised engagement with children will allow participants to apply their learning in real-world settings.
