The claims handler will be responsible for managing a caseload of Public / Employers Liability claims up to a reserve value of £30,000. The handler will manage the claim from inception to settlement pre litigation. 
    Key Accountabilities To proactively manage a caseload of PL/EL claims up to and including reserve limits of £30,000 to conclusion Maintain accurate data on relevant case management system Comply with set client SLA’s To attend client review meetings and assist with client project work where applicable Undertake appropriate additional tasks provided by the team leader Ensure quality service standards and productivity levels are maintained to a high standard Report to Team Leader/Claims Unit Service Manager undertaking appropriate additional tasks  Allocate new claims as and when required Carry out supervisory tasks appropriate to level and as per management instructions

In this role you will assist 2 large loss lawyers on complex, high value RTA multi-track claims. Experience of indemnity, liability and complex medical issues is required and excellent attention to detail essential. Your work will be supervised and feedback given. The role also includes the need to engage with sophisticated senior claims handlers in long-standing insurance clients. In this role you may also be required to assist with activities which enhance and develop Keoghs’ profile.

    This is a full time Manchester based role and has expectations of 1 day per week in the office
    Key ResponsibilitiesYou will work as part of a team progressing each file from receipt of papers from the insurer client to resolution of the claim. The role will include: Working with Lawyers to manage a caseload of complex injury claims including high value multi-track and claims valued over £100k.  Communicating with sophisticated insurer clients, dealing with their queries and updating them as the matter progresses.  Forensic analysis of voluminous quantum evidence, preparing chronologies, identifying anomalies and other relevant information across various sources and categories of evidence. Using your existing knowledge of complex injury symptomology to identify relevant issues within medical records in order to instruct medical experts, drawing key issues to their attention.  Critical analysis of sources of liability evidence and identifying any gaps.  Drafting concise technical advice on all aspects of claim handling to include advice on reserves, indemnity, liability, quantum and causation issues and claims resolution for strategy discussion with the Lead Lawyer. Proactively identifying next steps required on matter, discussing those aspects with the Lead Lawyer and taking action as agreed.  Interviewing witnesses and drafting statements.  Liaising with parties involved in claims including the insured, insurer, witnesses etc. Drafting pleadings and applications.  Instructing counsel and attending conferences, JSMs, mediations both remotely and in person. Attend court in person or by telephone, attend trials, settlement conferences etc as required. Delivery of agreed performance targets and quality standards. Delegate assigned tasks to a Complex Injury Paralegal and be fully engaged in their development in terms of technical ability and achievement of objectives.     Your New Role
    Work to achieve agreed activity levels with the intention of continuously reducing WIP throughout the year. Process all invoices and approve estimates within 5 working days of receipt/agreement. Take responsibility for issuing interim fees during the claim life cycle as highlighted centrally. Fullpletion of all prepared site notes templates and associated documentation within set SLA's Ensure that the data contained in Cq is accurate at all times. Assist in maintaining accurate management information bypleting spreadsheets as necessary. Reduce elapsed timescales by providing and fostering a pro-active approach to file management. Identify cases of possible fraud and recoveries and refer as appropriate within set SLA's. Work to ensure correct policy interpretation and validation. Prepare, check and approve where appropriate, reports for clients in accordance with agreed SLA's and formats. Ensure files are up to audit standards at all times. In conjunction with designated colleagues pro-actively update customers and clients where necessary in accordance with agreed client SLA's Take responsibility for following agreed/documented procedures when dealing with problems andplaints.     What You'll Bring to the Role

     Working with Heather Ford and taking a joint client-facing lead in the ongoing development of the PRC offering to both commercial and household property insurers with a focus on L&CL recoveries, liability, coverage and travel claims. 


    Key Responsibilities Regular high-level client relationship role, oversight and management of service delivery and quality to key clients, MI supervision and delivery as well as the development and enhancement of the Keoghs service to include regular workshops, training and seminars, as required. All with the required structural and personal support. Handling and assisting with a case load of large and complex PRC files for key clients. This will be a mix of travel, coverage, liability and recovery work required to develop and cement the relationship with clients for whom you and Heather Ford are the main point of contact. Advising on high profile media cases involving adverse client publicity.  Working with 3 Assistant Solicitors and 1 paralegal in Heather Ford’s team and assisting with the management, support and development of the team. Mentoring and advising members of the team on L&CL cases.  Achieving performance objectives and enabling others in the team to do so through development and mentoring. Working with the senior leadership team, as required, to share information and provide strategic insight to support mini team and overall PRC performance and growth targets.  Making a significant contribution to Keoghs reputation and standing in the legal market by virtue of your reputation for excellence, including specialist skills and knowledge.  Involvement in marketing initiatives as an individual or part of the wider team, attending marketing events, networking, speaking and seminars on specialist topics and contributing to or drafting publications/ podcasts.  Working Hours
    35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. Primary location for this role is the Parklands Office, Bolton




    Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Previous experience in insurance, property and coverage. Travel experience is preferable, but not essential.  Previous claims handling and litigation experience specifically relating to L&CL recoveries, liability and coverage/ first party work. Delivering services in a manner that is both cost efficient to the client and Keoghs.  A working knowledge and understanding of L&CL Household and Commercial Property claims. An ability to prioritise workload. Ability to pay attention to detail. Ability to work with case management systems. Ability to work as part of a busy team.  The personal skills to deal with such work as major and expensive litigation involving liaison with key clients.  Desirable

    The claims handler will be responsible for managing a caseload of Public Liability claims up to a reserve value of £10,000. This includes personal injury, product liability and property damage. The handler will manage the claim from inception to settlement pre litigation.
    Key Accountabilities• To pro-actively manage a caseload of Public Liability & Property Damage claims
    • Maintain accurate data on relevant case management system
    • Comply with set client SLA’s
    • Ensure quality service standards and productivity levels are maintained to a high standard
    • Undertake appropriate additional tasks provided by the Team Leader

    Working Hours  
    35 hours per week
    Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch
    Primary location for this role is Liverpool Office

    Key Accountabilities• To effectively and efficiently manage a caseload of pre-litigated motor claims up to £25k, including high value/complex matters from inception to settlement. 
    • Identify cases for early litigation with high prospects ohttps://davies-group--frecruit.vf.force.com/img/s.giff success and low risk.  
    • To support delivery of consistently high levels of service and productivity
    • To work closely with colleagues within the firm to deliver consistently high levels of service 
    • To input accurate data and ensure data maintenance

    Working Hours  
    35 hours per week

    Work within the Motor team as an insurance defence litigation specialist, to pursuepletion of files in line with client instruction to themercial benefit of Keoghs and clients. Proactively identifying next steps required and handling cases within your agreed handling authority. Interviewing witnesses and drafting statements. Liaising with parties involved in claims including the insured, insurer, witnesses etc. Drafting pleadings and applications. Instructing counsel and attending conferences, consultations, mediations both remotely and in person. Attend court in person or by telephone, attend trials, settlement conferences etc as required. Delivery of agreed performance targets and quality standards. Maintaining case management systems with up to date management information for clients. To ensurepliance with the LSNI regulations.
    Working Hours

    Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
    Law Degree & qualified Solicitor (0-5 years PQE). Previous experience in defence insurance litigation is desired but not essential. Previous experience of Credit Hire desired but not essential. Good telephone advocacy skills. Positive, confident and enthusiastic. Excellent listening, verbal and writtenmunication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and client care skills.
