The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Information Technology (IT) Manager to join our growing travel technology company. With approximately 250 employees and main offices located in Dublin and Manchester, we pride ourselves on delivering innovative technology solutions to the travel sector. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing our IS infrastructure, supporting business operations, and driving digital transformation initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the daily operations of the company’s information systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.Manage and support the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of core business applications, with a particular focus on Microsoft 365, Jira, and Confluence.Provide IT support for a hybrid workforce, including remote and on-site employees, ensuring secure and reliable access to systems and toolsLead a small team of IT professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance management.Collaborate with department heads and stakeholders to identify technology needs and deliver effective solutions that support business goals.Develop and enforce IS policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure data integrity and compliance with relevant regulations.Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to deliver quality IS services and solutions.Monitor system performance, conduct regular audits, and implement improvements as needed.Plan and manage IS budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Required Skills and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IS/IT management, preferably within a technology-driven or travel industry environment.Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite (including O365, Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, and OneDrive).Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence for project management and knowledge sharing.Proven ability to manage IT infrastructure, networks, and cloud-based solutions.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.Demonstrated experience managing projects, budgets, and vendor relationships.
Desirable AttributesExperience in the travel technology sector.Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and relevant Irish and UK data protection regulations.Certification in Microsoft, ITIL, or related disciplines.Familiarity with remote and hybrid working environments.Ability to travel occasionally between Dublin and Manchester offices.Knowledge of CISO Switches and wireless networking an advantage
Location
This role is primarily based in our Dublin office, with occasional travel required to our Manchester location. Flexible and hybrid working arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.
