    Job Summary

    Were recruiting a Lead Chiller Engineer to head up service, maintenance, and breakdown response for a fleet of industrial chillers across based out of our Andover Depot. Youll combine hands-on technical work with team coordination, client liaison, and continuous improvement of service delivery.

    This is a key operational role within a specialist HVAC provider supporting blue-chip clients in food processing, pharmaceuticals, data centres, and manufacturing. Youll ensure maximum uptime of critical cooling systems, mentor junior engineers, and drive best practice in safety, efficiency, and compliance.

    Key Responsibilities

    Complete management of the fleet of chillers, AHUs and other similar asset
    Lead planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on industrial chillers.

    Diagnose complex faults using refrigerant analysis, vibration monitoring, and control systems.
    Supervise and mentor a small team of site based engineers allocate jobs, review reports, and provide technical guidance.
    Conduct risk assessments, method statements, and F-Gas compliance documentation.
    Manage stock levels of spare parts and coordinate with suppliers.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Level 3 NVQ/City & Guilds in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or equivalent).
    F-Gas Category 1 certification.
    5+ years experience with industrial chillers.
    Process Cooling with experience of chilled water systems.
    Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a service environment.
    Strong electrical knowledge (3-phase, controls, inverters).
    Full UK driving licence.

    Desirable: CO2 experience, IOSH, experience with BMS integration.

    About the Role

    We're seeking a dedicated and experienced Chiller Engineer to join our Commercial Customer Services team. This field-based role covers Hampshire, Surrey, London & Kent and involves installing, servicing, and maintaining temporary hire equipment across customer sites.

    You'll play a key part in ensuring safe, efficient operations while responding to emergencies and driving customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Southern Customer Services Manager, you'll work remotely attending customer sites but be based out of the Andover depot.

    Key Responsibilities

    Install chillers in line with Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS).
    Repair stock on customer sites and attend service breakdowns promptly.
    Assist in developing associated products to meet customer needs and industry advancements.
    Order stock for stores and vans to minimise downtime and ensure vital parts availability.
    Proactively identify operational improvements to reduce costs and enhance customer satisfaction.
    Ensure full compliance with company systems, procedures, and health & safety regulations.
    Lead by example in promoting a "serious about safety" culture.
    Undertake additional tasks as required to support the team.

    Essential Requirements

    Experience working on commercial boilers.
    F-Gas qualified.
    Full UK driving licence (essential for field-based travel).
    Strong communication skills and ability to represent the company professionally.
    Commitment to completing jobs fully, with a tidy work ethic.
    Ability to work under own initiative, well-organized, and IT literate.
    Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety regulations.
    Impeccable administrative skills for accurate record-keeping.
    CSCS Card.
    Flexible and approachable, with excellent teamworking abilities.

    Desirable Skills

    Previous experience in the HVAC hire industry.
    Electrical qualification.
    MOD Clearance and site experience.
