Head of IT Delivery – Edinburgh, Scotland Full‑time, on‑site position (minimum of three days per week) with flexible remote work options. The role reports directly to the CIO of the Issuer Services business. Responsibilities Lead the delivery function, turning technology strategy into business outcomes. Drive successful execution of complex programmes and projects, ensuring robust governance, effective prioritisation and high‑quality delivery. Provide direct leadership across delivery teams, including value‑stream delivery leads, project managers and scrum masters. Set clear expectations, remove obstacles, strengthen delivery discipline and keep teams focused on commitments and measurable outcomes. Work closely with Product, Engineering, Architecture and Operations leaders to align delivery priorities, manage dependencies and resolve cross‑functional challenges. Provide transparent delivery updates to senior stakeholders to drive informed decision‑making. Oversee scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions and expected business benefits of projects and programmes. Ensure delivery plans are realistic, regularly reviewed and clearly communicated, with accountability for actions and timely escalation where required. Identify delivery risks, process inefficiencies and recurring challenges, and implement practical improvements. Drive consistency across delivery teams through effective planning, reporting, governance, estimation and dependency management practices. Coach and support delivery leaders, helping them navigate challenges and build high‑performing teams. Maintain robust delivery governance standards, ensuring appropriate controls across planning, reporting, risk management, release readiness and operational handover. Build strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders to keep delivery priorities aligned with strategic objectives. Qualifications Experienced technology delivery leader with a strong track record in large, complex organisations. Deep expertise across value‑stream, project and agile delivery, with ability to apply governance pragmatically. Strong understanding of agile, project and hybrid delivery approaches, with skills in planning, dependency management, governance, metrics, and release readiness. Proven people‑leadership experience, creating accountability, developing talent and building high‑performing teams. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, focused on delivery outcomes, risk management and continuous improvement. Comfortable working with senior stakeholders across technology and business, building relationships and challenging as needed to keep delivery on track.
