    Our client, a leading engineering business in Bradford are looking to recruit a Procurement Lead to join the business on a permanent basis as part of planned business growth. Reporting directly to the Operations Director,the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and developing the purchasing function within the business to support long term business growth strategy. This role would suit a purchasing professional who has worked in a lead role with strong relationship building skills and a proven background in successful negotiations with key suppliers. Successful candidates will be operating with a busy, fast paced environment, installing Mechanical/ Electrical equipment across the UK.Candidates must be commercially focused with good financial acumen. Candidate will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Project Management, Finance, and key suppliers to ensure procurement delivers maximum value while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance, and service. Candidates will ideally be educated to Degree standard and be a full CIPS Member with a demonstrable background within a lead role with a thorough understanding of supply chain. Hours: Monday Friday 0830 1700 Responsibilities include the following: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's operational and commercial objectives. Lead the full procurement lifecycle, including supplier sourcing, tendering, quotation analysis, negotiations, purchase order management, and contract administration. Source specialist equipment, materials, and subcontracted services for fuel storage, fuel management, engineering, and construction projects. Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with UK and international suppliers. Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, warranties, service agreements, and commercial terms to achieve best value. Monitor supplier performance through agreed KPIs, conducting regular supplier reviews and implementing improvement plans where required. Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Warehouse, Finance, and Project Managers to ensure materials and services are delivered on time and within budget. Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs while maintaining quality, safety, and operational performance. Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures, contractual obligations, health and safety requirements, and relevant UK legislation. Proactively manage procurement risks, including supplier performance, market fluctuations, and supply chain disruptions. Produce procurement reports, spend analysis, supplier performance metrics, and budget forecasts for senior management. Support inventory planning and stock optimisation to minimise waste while ensuring operational readiness. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and supplier performance. Mentor and support procurement team members and contribute to the development of best practice across the business.
