Male Support Worker CJP Outreach Service is looking for caring, motivated, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Support Workers. About the Role We’re looking for people with experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours that challenge, ideally within community-based settings such as supported living or residential care. Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a real advantage. As a Support Worker, you’ll provide person-centred care tailored to each individual’s needs, promoting independence, building life skills, and encouraging positive outcomes—all while fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities Deliver person-centred support, focusing on individual strengths and goals. Work alongside the people we support to develop and follow personalised support plans. Help with everyday skills such as cooking, personal care, budgeting, and household tasks. Support health and wellbeing, including medication, medical appointments, and healthy lifestyle choices. About the Person You’ll Support "J" J is full of humour and loves to laugh—comedy and light-heartedness go a long way. He enjoys going to the beach and spending time in open spaces, although motivation to leave home can sometimes be a challenge. Once out, he can be so engaged that he doesn’t want to come home, so patience and flexibility are key. He follows a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)-led approach focused on proactive, structured care. Boredom is a major trigger, keeping J stimulated and engaged (at home and in the community) is crucial. During periods of change or stress, J may show behaviours that challenge, but these do not define him, you’ll have full training and team support. What You’ll Do :As part of a 3:1 support team, your responsibilities will include: Building a trusting, respectful relationship with J Assisting with daily routines, personal care, and community access Encouraging J’s interests and introducing new activities Working with colleagues and PBS leads to reduce behaviours of concern Providing consistent, structured support to build J’s independence over time What We’re Looking For :We welcome applicants with a strong sense of compassion, reliability, and the ability to stay calm and positive even in challenging situations. This role offers 24 hours per week on a rolling rota, working 8am–4pm for 3 day shifts . You will also work 1 in 3 weekends. The rate of pay is £13.50 per hour . O lives at home with his parents and younger sibling. He communicates using eye gaze technology and facial expressions, as he is non-verbal. O uses his eyes to direct people to what he wants and enjoys making choices about his daily activities. He knows his own mind and is clear about his likes and dislikes. O enjoys watching TV and DVDs, and his support worker helps him plan and complete other enjoyable activities when on shift. O accesses the community in his mobility vehicle, which his dad drives, and he also attends college, where he enjoys spending time with support staff. Role Responsibilities The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within complex care or a healthcare environment and be in good general health, as the role involves moving and handling. You’ll work closely with O’s family and healthcare network to deliver person-centred care tailored to his individual needs. Experience with PEG feeding, cerebral palsy, tracheostomy care (including suctioning and cough assist), use of nebulisers, manual handling, pressure care, and personal care would be highly beneficial to ensure the best possible support for O. A New and Exciting Opportunity in Sudbury In October 2025, we launched our first supported living service in Sudbury and built a fantastic, dedicated team. As we continue to grow, we’re preparing to welcome a second individual into their own self-contained home towards the end of 2025. We’re now recruiting Support Workers to join a new, compassionate, and consistent team to support this young man (“I”) as he transitions to independent living. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a new service from the very beginning and help shape a stable, person-centred support team around an amazing individual with great potential for growth. Shifts & Pay We’re recruiting for both day and waking night roles to provide consistent, high-quality support. Shift Patterns: Day Shifts: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM Sleeping Night-10:00pm-8:00am Waking Nights: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM Part-Time Options: Typically 1–3 shifts per week Please note: Due to the structure and need for consistency in this service, split shifts are not available. About “I” “I” is a bright and active young man who thrives on structure and routine.
