Collaborate with control functions—including Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Finance—to ensure robust governance and maintain a strong control infrastructure. Maintain a focus on risk management and ethical practices, ensuring trading decisions protect our clients, reputation, and assets. Complete and maintain all required professional registrations and licenses within the designated timeframes to support regulatory compliance. Required qualifications and skills Extensive background in quantitative modeling or analytics, ideally within the financial sector, focusing on algorithmic trading systems. Deep proficiency in Java and Python, with a strong foundation in software design and development principles. Proven experience applying probability theory, statistics, and mathematical finance to solve complex analytical equations and analyze market data. Demonstrated experience utilizing AI technologies to design and build high-performance trading applications. Master's or PhD degree in a quantitative field (such as Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science), or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex quantitative concepts to technical and non-technical partners. Beneficial skills and qualifications Hands-on experience with Rust and kdb+/Q for real-time data analysis and high-frequency trading. Familiarity with EMEA equity market microstructure and cash equity execution dynamics. Direct experience collaborating with risk management, compliance, or legal teams in a regulated global environment. The Opportunity This is an opportunity to join Citi's LMFX Trading desk in London at the Vice President level, taking on primary market-making responsibilities across a portfolio of spot, forward, and swap books. The desk is at a growth phase, with significant investment being made in electronic trading capabilities, internalization infrastructure, and client franchise development. The successful candidate will be an experienced LMFX trader who can operate autonomously within a risk framework, contribute meaningfully to the desk's commercial performance, and bring a genuine understanding of both market microstructure and client flow dynamics Primary Responsibilities Manage primary market-making responsibilitiesacross a portfolio of LMFX books - including spot, forwards, and FX swaps - taking intra-day and overnight risk within defined limits and actively contributing to the desk's P elevate and manage control issues with transparency. Assess risk/reward of trading decisionswith appropriate consideration for the firm's reputation, in full adherence to Citi's Code of Conduct, the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services, and all applicable regulatory requirements and policies. What We Need From You Demonstrable experience as a LMFX linear trader with particular focus on Latam currenciesat a Tier 1 or Tier 2 financial institution, with a proven track record of managing spot, forward, and FX swap books in a primary market-making capacity. Deep product expertiseacross LMFX instruments; familiarity with Local Markets currency products and associated risk dynamics would be a meaningful advantage. Candidates applying for this role must be aware that it is a Certified Role, subject to the FCA and PRA Certification Regime. The Certification Regime is one element of the Individual Accountability Regime which came into effect on 7 March 2016.
