    The Chargehand Overhead Linesman is the lead member of the site-based construction team, responsible for supervising and delivering overhead line works safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards on networks up to and including 33kV.
    The role requires leading from the front, setting the standard for safety, productivity, and workmanship while ensuring compliance with procedures, client requirements, and cost controls. The Chargehand must be comfortable operating in a challenging, dynamic, team-based environment and act as the key link between site operatives and site supervision.

    What You’ll Be Doing Lead and coordinate site construction activities for overhead line maintenance, repair, refurbishment, and renewal works in accordance with approved work instructions and programmes. Ensure all works are carried out in full compliance with current and future health & safety legislation, electricity safety rules, relevant standards, and company procedures. Supervise and support linesmen and operatives on site, providing clear direction, technical guidance, and leadership on both safety and productivity. Work closely with the Site Supervisor, cooperating fully and following all instructions, controls, and precautions as directed. Interface effectively with site supervision, client representatives, customer representatives, and other stakeholders to support safe and efficient delivery of works. Ensure all allocated work packs, permits, and documentation are completed accurately, recorded correctly, and submitted within required timescales. Provide technical input and on-site decision-making within the scope of the Chargehand role and authorisations. Ensure near misses, good catches, hazards, and safety observations are reported promptly and appropriately. Carry out work at height on poles and towers in a safe and professional manner, including the use of MEWPs where required. Actively participate in and undertake overhead line maintenance, repair, and refurbishment works as required, leading by example. Ensure tools, plant, and equipment are used correctly and in accordance with the Overhead Line (OHL) Manual and manufacturer guidance. Take responsibility for safe and professional conduct when working on or near customer property, ensuring minimal disruption and a high standard of workmanship.. Essential Proven experience as an Overhead Linesman with Chargehand or supervisory responsibilities. Experience working on overhead electricity distribution networks up to 33kV. Strong understanding of safe systems of work and team leadership on construction sites. Ability to lead site teams effectively in demanding environments.     Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Traffic Management Supervisor will primarily be field based carrying out complex traffic management site audits as well as all other Circet sites to ensure full compliance where health & safety is paramount.     Main Duties:
    Implementation, maintenance, removal of traffic management schemes. Carry out TM audits on our workforce at regular intervals as well as audits on the wider group’s sites ensuring full compliance throughout. Carry out toolbox talks at regular intervals to all workforce, including recording, reporting to ops manager on current status. Attend regular meetings to discuss the latest companies’ operational activities. Overseeing TM requirements Regularly liaise with client regarding upcoming projects and assist with planning.
    Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

    The successful candidate will have: Full sector scheme 12AB & D qualifications. Full driving license including trailer license. Minimum 5 years + experience in the traffic management industry at operative or above level. Ability to conduct yourself professionally and coherently when attending meetings, carrying out toolbox talks etc. Think critically and problem solve.     Responsibilities as FLM include:
    • Carry out joint site meetings with client and other relevant stakeholders.
