    Enterprise Manager - Bishop’s Stortford College

    We are looking for an Enterprise Manager to lead the commercial catering offer at Bishop’s Stortford College, covering both hospitality and paid-for services across campus.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Manage a team of 5, including 3 café staff, to deliver a high-quality commercial service.
    • Oversee the new café, tuckshops, horsebox unit, vending, and other commercial food outlets.
    • Lead the planning and delivery of hospitality for school events, including VIP functions and parent-facing occasions.
    • Drive innovation in the paid-for offer, balancing creativity with commercial performance.
    • Hold full P&L accountability for enterprise activities, meeting revenue and profit targets.
    • Weekly reporting to Contracts Director on financials.
    • Manage internal and external bookings, ensuring a seamless service experience for all users.
    • Manging Bluerunner(Internal Booking system) and update pricing
    • Work with Executive Chef to ensure correct menus and costings for each event.

    The Ideal Candidate:
    • Strong background in retail or commercial catering operations with a focus on profitability and service.

    Overall Purpose of the Role
    • Lead the food production operations across multiple large and complex food service outlets with overall accountability for the quality and profitable delivery of all food production

    Duties/Tasks
    • Development, innovation and approval of menus
    • Manages the delivery of exclusive VIP functions and events
    • Ensures food quality standards are consistently achieved across all food service operations
    • Ensure all contract SLA are met in terms of food offering
    • Drive and support Hospitality and Delivered catering business on campus
    • Drive use of tech installed on campus to enhance sales and customer experience
    • Leadership of a health & safety culture across all food service operations
    • Leads the catering operations to ensure all food production, labour & GP targets are achieved across the contract/site
    • Contributes to the continuous improvement of contract performance as a key member of the contact leadership team
    • Leads the team through effective communication & performance management
    • Recruits, trains & develops the team ensuring there is a succession plan in place and supports the company Apprenticeship programme where applicable
    • Ensures food purchasing and stock management is managed effectively
    • Performs other tasks as reasonably requested

    • Competent to work within or lead, manage and develop the team
    • Acts in line with guidelines and procedures, to ensure the team operates to its maximum potential

    Essential
    • City & Guilds 706/1, 2 or NVQ Level 3 or similar qualification
    • Experience of leading a successful team
    • Influential leadership skills, able to inspire others
    • Experience in an Exec or Head Chef role at a similar level
    • Demonstrate innovation and strategic direction in food planning and menu development
    • Passion about food and customer service
    • Knowledge of working to a budget and achieving GP
    • Expert culinary skills
    • Business management within a kitchen environment

    Desirable

    Catering Manager - Bishop’s Stortford College

    We are seeking a Catering Manager to lead the day-to-day core feeding operation at Bishop’s Stortford College, a prestigious independent school with nursery, pre-prep, prep, and upper school pupils.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Oversee daily dining operations, ensuring excellent service and smooth delivery across all age groups.
    • Lead, support, and develop a team of 30-40 staff, including a dotted line to the Head Chef.
    • Work in close collaboration with the Executive Chef to uphold food quality and consistency.

    Your key responsibilities will include:
    • Preparing delicious food to the highest standards
    • Supervising our culinary and catering teams to ensure we continue to deliver impeccable food and customer service
    • Overseeing the efficiency of all in-unit catering operations, including managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and implementing action plans
    • Communicating regularly with your line manager to monitor KPIs and targets

    • Hold a Basic Food Hygiene certificate

    • Have excellent communication and organisational skills
    • Be an ambitious and motivated individual who is always looking to upskill
