     The Role   As a CHP Field Service Engineer, you will be required to deliver a very high technical and professional level of service to our customers, with significant focus on safety and quality. The aim is to achieve on time in full, to schedule and right first time. The role encompasses onsite technical assistance to customer during the installation, commissioning and maintenance of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems. The individual is expected to have expert knowledge in these areas. You will develop and manage good customer relationships through the provision of professional customer management, provide a full engineering service and support for customers both internal and external, and will be required to develop and manage exceptional relationships through excellence in terms of technical capability and also through personal interaction with customers. As part of the developing portfolio in the Service and Aftermarket business, it is also required to provide service support to non-company products of a similar nature. You will act as an ambassador for Company and represent the business with professionalism and enthusiasm. As part of the Nexus of Clean™, we are advancing a sustainable future—helping customers improve efficiency and reduce emissions across clean power, water, food, and industrial sectors. Join us and be part of a purpose-driven team shaping the future and tackling some of the planet’s most urgent challenges, all while growing your career in a dynamic global environment.   What Needs To Be Done? Ensure that you fully understand the customer’s requirements are prior to visiting siteCreate effective relationships within the Service and Aftermarket team and the wider organisationProvide technical support to colleagues and be part of the wider technical support team that supports our customersProvide detailed Site Reports to the required standard that among other things highlight actions which may need to be taken and seek opportunities for improvementMaintain regular communications with the Field Service teamBehave at all times in a manner that is in keeping with the responsibility of the position, and the image of the CompanySupervise the activities of Company or Customer supplied Technicians, be responsible for their day-to-day safety requirements, site activities and disciplineDiligence at all times in protecting the Company commercial and warranty liabilitiesDevelop installation, maintenance and overhaul schedulesWhile on site observe health and safety at work procedures and complete required Risk AssessmentsWhen necessary support with customer and internal training activities to help educate customer and HTUK staff in the correct operation and maintenance of equipment   What Do You Need To Bring? An ideal candidate would likely have the following profile:  A solid mechanical background working with gas engines or diesel generators.Proven experience of working on Jenbacher, Cummins, MTU, MWM, MAN or CAT engines, complete with the relevant commissioning certification.Hands-on mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills.Able to produce detailed reports of site activities and recommendations.Ability to supervise others during installation, commissioning, maintenance and training activities.Ability to work as part of a team or as an individual.Good appreciation and understanding of business and commercial issues in relation to the role.Health & Safety awareness in the workplace.  We’ve put together some criteria that we think is important for this role, but don’t worry if your experience and expertise isn’t an exact match. Liase with internal Departments on all issues relating to compressor packages Maintain relationships with users of Howden Compressors and compressor packages providing timely and professional responses as and when required. Interact and respond to all aspects of CBS supporting cost reduction, efficiency, delivery and Quality improvements. Ensure adherence to company environmental, health and safety standards in compliance with company policies to ensure a safe working environment and the minimisation of environmental impact. Preparation of Health and Safety risk assessments prior to and during on-site assignments, strictly following Howden Health and Safety policies. Your Experience Should Be...
