    Charles River Laboratories are excited to be recruiting for a Senior Account Manager – Safety Assessment (Europe) to join our established Sales and Commercial team. Working remotely (within the EU only), you’ll act as the primary point of contact for clients in assigned Safety Assessment accounts. You’ll seek to deliver exceptional client experience, grow sales across the portfolio and build sustainable mutually beneficial relationships to maximize Safety Assessment share gain and revenue retention. 
    This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Account/Sales Manager looking to leverage their skills in a global CRO, with the chance to work with a diverse portfolio of clients and to be part of a growing and driven Commercial team.  
    What you’ll be doing:
    •    Identify ethical upselling and proactively drive portfolio pull-through opportunities to increase total account reach, revenue and Charles River Laboratories share.
    •    Understand account development objectives and challenges, providing insights and solutions to drive their success.
    •    Prepare, execute and maintain a comprehensive Account Management plan to indicate target opportunities, expansion of accounts and an analysis of competitor share within accounts.
    •    Recognize client needs and collaborate with internal teams to deliver customized solutions and guide the client to solutions.
    •    Establish and nurture client relationships that fill the business pipeline, forming long-term business partnerships to ensure future sales.
    •    Manage all initial Safety Assessment inquiries and qualify prospective opportunities for assigned accounts. 
    •    Collaborate with the Client Services team and other Managers for rapid turnaround times on proposals/agreements, lead the negotiation process as appropriate and follow through on sales execution.
    •    Work closely with the relevant Subject Matter Experts to ensure the client has a cohesive and responsive experience throughout the engagement, influencing and buying journey. •    Effectively communicate client challenges/concerns with all appropriate Charles River Laboratories departments for quality resolution.
    •    Utilize CRM to capture client information to include, but not limited to, timely, accurate and effective opportunity management and activity documentation.
    •    Maintain proficient knowledge of competitor profiles and develop positioning to influence potential clients.
    •    Actively participate in relevant conference events and trade shows to establish comprehensive pre-set meeting planning, objectives and execution.
    •    Complete all sales, commercial and portfolio training as required to be fluent in the Safety Assessment portfolio and ready to present to a range of client personas. 
    •    Perform all other related duties as assigned. Job QualificationsSkills and Experience:
    •    Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc) or equivalent in life sciences, sales or related discipline. 
    •    Experience: Significant track record of working in a similar commercially focused role (Account Manager/Business Development/Sales Management etc) ideally within another CRO/Biotech/Pharma. 
    •    Any additional experience of working within Safety Assessment or a Preclinical function would be highly desirable. 
    •    Demonstrable skills in selling scientific services are also a plus. 
    •    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
    •    Certification/Licensure: Valid driver’s license required. There will be ~25% travel in this role to client sites, external conferences and team meetings. 
    •    Other: Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Proficient in the use of standard office computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, e-mail).
