As the LNG Credit Risk Manager, you will be responsible for managing the credit risk across the Centrica Energy LNG business, ensuring the monitoring, control, and mitigation of credit risks while supporting the development of business strategy. The role may also involve supporting credit risk activities related to the Gas and Power portfolio, depending on the needs of the business.The role holder will take decisions regarding credit risk within delegated competences and provide management with a motivated opinion regarding decisions to be taken at higher levels. You will ensure a high level of professionalism, knowledge, and exemplarity within the credit risk function and support the Head of Credit Risk and Head of Risk (Centrica Energy).The role is based out of our central London office (close to Marble Arch) with 3 days per week typically based within the office.What you’ll be doing:Oversee credit risk activities related to LNG transactions (with potential involvement in the Gas and Power portfolio), ensuring integrity of credit systems regarding exposure captureMonitor and analyse credit exposures, identifying potential risks and opportunities for risk mitigationDemonstrate an insightful understanding of financial accounts to review and approve credit assessments and scorings and set appropriate limits within group credit appetiteImplement and continually push the development of state-of-the-art information systems ensuring a thorough view of credit risks in cooperation with the dedicated IT and specialist quantitative teamsCollaborate closely with trading desks, finance teams, and other stakeholders to assess credit risks associated with new and existing transactionsRegularly review and update credit risk models, methodologies, and tools to enhance accuracy and effectivenessStay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices related to credit risk management in commodity tradingRepresent Centrica in negotiations with external trading counterparties regarding credit matters and demonstrate an excellent knowledge of trading documentation and credit clauses.We have a few must-haves:Extensive experience in credit risk management, especially in the LNG business, from within either a commodity trading house or investment banking environment, with an in depth understanding of market dynamics, key energy market players and trading practicesEnergy commodity knowledge ideally within LNG and GasProven track record of developing and implementing effective credit risk policies and proceduresDeep knowledge of credit risk assessment methodologies, financial analysis, and risk modellingStrong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisionsSound understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks relevant to commodity tradingExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and present findings in a clear manner to senior managementExperienced within stakeholder management, able to respond to demands of front, middle and back office teamsDemonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities with a strategic mindset.Why should you apply?
