The role/s will be part of our existing Surrey CYP’s Substance Misuse Service (SYPSMS). You will be joining a supportive and dedicated team, who are driven to build and develop the self-esteem, confidence, and resilience of young people – reducing the potential harm, and enabling young people to lead healthy, happy, and productive lives. The overall aim of the Smoke Free Generation lead role is to design and be the lead to deliver a ‘smoke free generation’ prevention, cessation and education, service for CYP to reduce the smoking prevalence for young people aged 11-24 in Surrey and to stop and reduce the rate that young people take up smoking and vaping.The service will consist of three components of service delivery: Component A - Smoking and Vaping Education Prevention Service
    Component B - Smoking and Vaping Cessation Service - delivery of a gold standard, evidence-based approach, to reduce smoking and vaping among children and young people aged 11-24, using NICE Guidance. 
    Component C - Education and Delivery Service -support CYP to stop vaping or smoking. Develop an education and delivery service to support young people who may be considering, vaping or smoking, that includes creating a network of Smoke Free Generation Ambassadors who can signpost and support young people to the appropriate information and services.

    Job Description

    The role of smoke free generation lead practitioner  – Smoke Free Generation is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and CYP (CYP). The role/s will be part of our existing Surrey CYP’s Substance Misuse Service (SYPSMS). You will be joining a supportive and dedicated team, who are driven to build and develop the self-esteem, confidence, and resilience of young people – reducing the potential harm, and enabling young people to lead healthy, happy, and productive lives.  The overall aim of the Smoke Free Generation lead role is to design and be the lead to deliver a ‘smoke free generation’ prevention, cessation and education, service for CYP to reduce the smoking prevalence for young people aged 11-24 in Surrey and to stop and reduce the rate that young people take up smoking and vaping. The service will consist of three components of service delivery: Component A - Smoking and Vaping Education Prevention Service
    Component B - Smoking and Vaping Cessation Service - delivery of a gold standard, evidence-based approach, to reduce smoking and vaping among children and young people aged 11-24, using NICE Guidance. 
    Component C - Education and Delivery Service -support CYP to stop vaping or smoking. Develop an education and delivery service to support young people who may be considering, vaping or smoking, that includes creating a network of Smoke Free Generation Ambassadors who can signpost and support young people to the appropriate information and services.

    Additional Information

    Salary: £18,513 pro rata; £32,618.14 FTE (37 hours)

    Flexibility: Opportunities for flexible homeworking available (main office is in Leatherhead)*2 x Smoke Free Generation Lead Practitioner- one to cover the East of Surrey and one to cover the West of Surrey. *This role requires an up to date driving licence, access to a vehicle, MOT and business insurance.
    *You may be required to work out of hours, including evenings and weekends where necessary, in addition to travel around Surrey on a daily basis, and occasional travel around the UK.
