About the job Ecommerce Trading / Digital Trading Lead – 12 month FTC – Salary dep on experienceAs Digital Trading Lead, you’ll be driving sales and profits across cardfactory’s online channels, helping us grow into the top digital spot for all things celebrations. You’ll lead a talented team of 9 covering trading, site optimisation, and content. You’ll report to the Digital Director and be an important part of the Digital Leadership Team.This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. We operate a hybrid working model combining some days working from home and some at our support centre in Wakefield (2-3 days per week), with great links to the M1 and free parking. What you’ll doDigital Strategy & ExecutionDefine, own, and deliver the digital trading strategy that aligns with the wider digital and overall business strategy to drive significant growth over next 3-5 yearsCollaborate cross-functionally with commercial, marketing (digital and customer), finance, fulfilment and operation teams to ensure successful execution of the trading planIdentify and act upon new opportunities to grow digital sales, customer engagement, and profitabilityTrading & MerchandisingOwn the commercial trading performance of the website and app, ensuring sales, margin, and KPIs are delivered against planOversee effective product merchandising and trading strategies to maximise visibility, sales, and engagementLeverage trading levers including promotions, product placement, and content optimisation to drive conversion and improve eCommerce metricsMonitor competitor activity and market trends to inform trading and merchandising strategiesReporting & InsightsOversee weekly and monthly digital trading reports with actionable insights and recommendationsUse data and analytics to inform decision-making, optimise performance, and highlight risks or opportunitiesProvide clear visibility of digital performance to senior stakeholdersCross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with commercial buying teams to align digital strategy with product prioritiesWork with marketing, product & UX, finance, and fulfilment/operations to deliver seamless customer experiences across key journeysPlan and manage major and minor seasonal campaigns and trading events to maximise impact across all channelsTeam LeadershipCoach and develop a team across digital trading managers, creative content, product set-up and performance marketing, that ensures the team have the skills and leadership necessary for the future Foster a high-performance culture, ensuring clear objectives, accountability, and growth within the teamBuild strong collaboration and alignment across internal teams to deliver customer-first trading strategiesWhat you’ll needProven experience in a senior digital trading or eCommerce leadership roleStrong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering sales and margin targets in digital channelsExpertise in digital merchandising, promotions, and trading leversStrong leadership skills with experience managing and developing multidisciplinary teams Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functionally, including senior stakeholders, to understand and take a specific course of action when there is no reporting link. Comfort with numbers and an analytical mindset with the ability to spot trends and translate insights into actions.
