    Roles and Responsibility This position will be suitable for mechanically and electrical biased engineers from any type of maintenance / service background specifically general automotive technicians, HGV, mobile plant, forklift, or ex forces military vehicle engineers. Given the nature of the role, the ideal candidate will hold a full driving license and have previous experience in a customer-facing environment. Additionally, having previously worked unsupervised would be a benefit.
    The successful candidate will visit various client sites in the area in order to carry out servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance on a wide range of material handling equipment and forklift trucks. You will be responsible for the management and control of the parts stock and completing service reports and timesheets.

    What You’ll Be Doing Develop outline scopes, site location plans, primary plant layouts, and Single Line Diagrams for major transmission projects. Review detailed designs from contractors and witness Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) . Apply Safety by Design principles to mitigate engineering and operational risks. Support site teams to ensure quality installations and network security. Evaluate tenders and manage specialist consultants for project success.
    What We’re Looking For ✔ Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer ✔ 3+ years’ experience as a Substation Project Engineer (up to 400kV) ✔ Proven track record in high-voltage substation design, operation, and maintenance ✔ Strong project management skills ✔ Excellent understanding of health & safety regulations ✔ Previous transmission sector experience is essential
