You will be involved in delivering administrative and technical support within Environmental Health & Licensing which includes the processing of applications, production of licences, permits & consents as required, in line with legislations and operational standards. About You:You will join us with a great eye for detail, enthusiastic approach to work and ability to communicate well at all levels. Due to continuous changes in legislation and guidance, you will need to be able to work flexibly and ready to adapt quickly to changes in processes and work demands.     Description: Cambridge is one of the most dynamic cities in the UK.  But, like many councils, we're also facing major pressures - from rising need and limited funding to the demands of the climate emergency.  Our land and property - assets are one of our biggest tools to tackle those challenges and achieve real outcomes for our communities.  We're now recruiting a Strategic Asses Lead - a new role within our Economy & Place directorate.  This isn't a traditional property post.  It's a chance for a strategic thinker, with a solid grounding asset management to help us rethink how we use our estate to deliver on our ambitions: from community wealth building and poverty reduction to achieving net zero and revitalising place.  You'll take a corporate, long-term view of the council's whole estate - administrative, operational, commercial, and selected housing assets - working closely with senior colleagues across the whole council to understand what we hold, what we need, and how best to use what we retain and release what we don't.   You'll lead the refresh of our Asset Management Plan and drive forward a pipeline of investment that reflects the full value of our assets - financial, social and environmental.  You wont' be doing this alone. We want to bring more stability to the voluntary and community sector to enable groups to focus their efforts on delivering their services and activities: you can help us achieve those aims.You would be responsible advising on matters relating to the governance and financial affairs of voluntary and community organisations to make sure Council funds are targeted where they are needed most.  This would involve reviewing and analysing financial documents to inform those decisions.You should have experience in financial management and be up to date with current good practice and the legal requirements around accounting for all types of voluntary sector organisations. You would also provide financial advice and support directly to voluntary and community organisations seeking investment from the Council.  You may occasionally need to visit groups or attend their Board meetings to gain an understanding of their practice and financial position. You would review grant monitoring reports to ensure that Council funds have been spent appropriately.
