  • Complex Credit Hire Litigation Executive - pre-lit - £20,000 - £28,000 Credit Hire Paralegal / Litigation Executive – Greater Manchester Credit Hire Paralegal – This recruitment project is designed to attract candidates with a sound knowledge of pre-lit credit hire matters though hiring managers will also consider candidates with general case handling experience. The role consists of handling a caseload of delegated authority as well as non-delegated authority pre-litigated credit hire files under supervision. Complex Credit Hire Work This is a well-established team advising all manner of insurer and corporate clients. The team is looking to attract candidates at all levels. In particular, this is an exciting role for anyone with knowledge of the pre-litigated credit hire process. Part of the role involves assessing credit hire cases which have been red-flagged due to suspected fraud or other issues on the file, such as possible inflated charges or other issues which require further analysis and investigation. As a result, you will gain excellent technical skills in critical thinking and technically investigating files of up to £25,000 in terms of value. The role also involves fantastic ongoing training and affords candidates excellent transferable qualities as you progress. Defendant EL/PL experience is preferred though claimant experience will be considered. Summary Job Title: Associate Location: Manchester Salary: to £40,000 – £50,000 Work pattern - hybrid: 3 days working from home Reports to: Partner Expertise: 0-5 PQE solicitor with strong academic background and ideally proven EL/PL experience from a defendant perspective. Claimant EL/PL experience will also be considered. Nature of the role The role involves acting for various healthcare clients of the firm, particularly primary healthcare trusts and hospital trusts to defend a range of matters. Cases may vary from straightforward slips ‘n' trips to more complex matters including accidents at work including crush injuries and accidents with needles. You will grow your own caseload of fast track and multi track EL/PL work whilst assisting on technical and on complex matters. Because of the nature of the client base, no two cases are every the same. Expect challenging work and the type of cases you'll be unable to find elsewhere. Day-to-day responsibilities The successful candidate will grow their own caseload and be responsible for all aspects of a given matter including: Interviewing witnesses and drafting witness statements Instructing experts as well as counsel where appropriate Attending CMCs, application hearings and JSMs etc Negotiating settlements. Conferences with Counsel. Preparing for and attending trials and mediations. Client secondment and other opportunities with the role The position also offers the opportunity to be seconded to a client hospital or trust and work closely with the in-house legal team. Furthermore, you will also be afforded the opportunity to work on more complex matters with more experienced colleagues. The team also spends a good portion of time on client training and general business development in which all members of the team are encouraged to participate. You will also be encouraged to mentor and help train less experienced staff including Paralegals and Litigation Executives.
