Your role is crucial in ensuring our accommodation meets Bupa’s cultural and brand values. You’ll help us make health happen by:Ensuring that all health and safety and compliance checks are carried out using the provided digital systems as per the timescales directed by Bupa Standard Operating Procedures and by Bupa compliance management tools and software.Action and close any tasks attributed to the Maintenance Manager or home highlighted on Bupa compliance management tools and software.Ensure that safety and cleanliness within the care home and grounds is to the satisfaction of Environmental Health, local Fire Authority requirements, Legionella Risk Assessment requirements and Health & Safety regulations etc.Ensure that all necessary maintenance and repair tasks are completed to a high standard, in a timely manner and offer value for money whilst ensuring internal decoration continues to meet the organisations vision regarding first impressions.Ensure regular review of residents’ preferences in relation to their personal space is documented and actioned.Report defects, obtain quotes and manage repairs using Bupa approved contractors, complying at all times with Bupa’s Standard Operating Procedures.Report irreparable defects to Home Manager or Property/Maintenance Manager as appropriate.Manage Care Home elements of any refurbishment programme and capex programme of works ensuring minimal disruption to residents, visitors and staff.Ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained and safely secured at all times.Assist with induction of new colleagues with regard to the operation of emergency exits, fire points and evacuation procedures, keeping a record of all instructions given as required by the Home Manager, especially where the use of equipment is involved.Although you will be located within a home there may be a requirement to provide maintenance support to a local Care Homes within a reasonable distance (no more than 1hr from normal place of work) as and when required to provide a comprehensive regional maintenance support. Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:A good understanding of building services including, heating, hot and cold-water distribution, ventilation, electrical distribution, and plumbingSound understanding of building fabric and its maintenancePractical experience of planned maintenance systems and record keepingKnowledge of relevant statutory requirements and experience of complianceA full driving licenceA building/electrical/plumbing qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC, ONC, HNC etc) or a minimum of 3 years hand on experience in property maintenance and general repairs where possibleAbility to work as part of a multi-disciplinary teamComputer literateGood Customer service skillsBe flexible to meet changing demands within the care homePractical ability and experience in painting and decoratingBenefitsOur benefits are designed to make health happen for our people.
