The successful candidate will work on a variety of high-profile developments throughout South Wales and beyond, including student accommodation, education facilities, tall buildings, healthcare, emergency services, commercial, and public sector projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and play a key role in delivering innovative, sustainable, and compliant electrical building services solutions. Key Responsibilities Work as part of a design team delivering calculations, technical reports, performance specifications, and detailed electrical design solutions. Develop compliant electrical systems designs using industry-standard CAD and BIM (Revit) software. Undertake design calculations to demonstrate compliance with client requirements, regulations, and project specifications. Carry out site surveys, inspections, defect assessments, and witness testing activities. Review construction design details and provide technical feedback and recommendations. Liaise closely with architects, structural engineers, surveyors, contractors, and other project stakeholders. Attend project meetings, technical reviews, and client presentations as required. Ensure designs comply with current legislation, industry standards, and health and safety requirements. Support projects through all stages of design and construction, from concept through to completion. Contribute to the delivery of sustainable and energy-efficient building services solutions. About You We are looking for a motivated and technically capable engineer with strong design experience and a collaborative approach to project delivery. Essential Requirements Degree-qualified in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or educated to HNC/HND level with relevant industry experience. Proven experience delivering electrical building services designs from concept through to completion. Experience producing calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation aligned with industry standards and project stages. Strong understanding of current building regulations, legislation, and electrical design principles. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Desirable Requirements Experience using Revit and BIM software. Experience with electrical design calculation software such as Amtech or equivalent. Knowledge of industry guidance including RIBA Plan of Work stages and BSRIA design frameworks. Working towards, or interested in pursuing, professional registration (EngTech, IEng, or CEng).
