    Binnies geotechnical team continues to grow, due to continued successes in tendering. As we enter the next water regulatory period (AMP8) we will be providing geotechnical input for the vast majority of UK water companies, building critical infrastructure with a particular focus on storm spill reduction. We are also supporting water companies as they develop their designs of the new generation of reservoirs to safeguard drinking water supplies for the future.This is alongside our other frameworks including supporting the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales and the Canals and River Trust.As part of this growth we are also offering our clients more advanced geotechnical services and taking on more complex designs, including temporary works. This gives all our staff an exciting opportunity to learn new skills, and be involved in the new direction and expansion of our services.     Our portfolio of work includes flood, coastal and maritime projects and a range of other sectors such as ports, water utilities, transport and renewable power. Our scale of projects range from nationally significant infrastructure projects to local river restoration.The role can be full time or hybrid in one of our offices in Bristol/Bradford on Avon, Redhill or Birmingham. For instance Binnies includes Solutions By Nature; with a specific focus on delivering nature-based solutions via blue-green infrastructure to the water industry.Binnies hold the IEMA EIA Quality Mark, which is a benchmark of our high standards in EIA delivery.About the RoleThe role will include:Co-ordinating all stages of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) including SEA and the range of other environmental assessments and consents such as WFD, HRA, and planning.Provide the reviewer and approver role for environmental deliverables; driving technical quality.Providing line management and mentoring to members of the Environmental Team.Supporting tenders.Supporting recruitment.Qualifications/RequirementsThe role is suitable for an Environmental professional with full professional membership (such as IEMA, IES or CIWEM). In addition, should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:An environmental related degreeChartered with a relevant instituteA thorough understanding of EIA, sustainability and consenting (planning, HRA, WFD etc.)Excellent written and oral communicationExcellent people skills and ideally previous management/supervisory experienceUnderstanding of commercial drivers of consultancy and ability to manage and work to programme and budgetHold a full UK driving licencePrevious consultancy experience.Experience of construction stage delivery would be an advantage but not essential.Previous project/commercial management is not required for this role as we have dedicated Project Managers to allow a technical focus on projects.We would welcome applicants of Principal Level and above and we can flex salary based on grade and experience.
