From consulting and supporting on the planning of some of the most complex lifting operations at high profile customer sites, to overseeing the execution of the very same lifts, our team of experts play a critical role in making sure nothing is left to chance.

    Our Lifting Superintendents support multiple projects across the UK - you must be willing to work away every week (Monday - Friday) and be flexible with regards to travel and location.

    What will you be doing?

    As a Lifting Superintendent for BES Heavy Lifting Solutions, you will be providing our customers with independent and impartial advice during the planning and execution phases of projects.

    Some of your responsibilities will include:

    • Reporting to the Area Lifting Engineers, providing support/technical input as required
    • Providing oversight and on site governance of contractors and suppliers lifting operations, ensuring work is carried out in accordance with company and project standards, approved lift plans (SSOW) using certified lifting personnel, equipment and accessories
    • Stopping any lifting operation from occurring if they have any concerns over the safety of the lift
    • Identifying lifting issues at site level and report using the company and project safety observation reporting systems
    • Reporting and recording all lifting related near misses/accidents/incidents
    • Monitor and/or audit lifting operations, including the management of lifting equipment.
    • Monitor all variations to lifting documentations, ensuring that they are reviewed/approved by BES Heavy Lifting Solutions Ltd prior to the task commencing
    • Maintain detailed site logs and records of all lifting activity in support of the effective execution of project contract
    • Consistently providing an exceptional level of customer service, while representing our brilliant company professionally

    As part of our team, you will get:

    • Salary up to £68,750 (inclusive of project bonus)

    To join our team, you will need:

    • Proven experience in the lifting industry
    • CPCS Crane Supervisors Blue card (Competent)
    • ECITB Diploma Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Construction Lifting, Positioning & Installing Structures, Plant & Equipment (Rigging/Erecting)
    • Significant experience of supervising lifting operations in an environment of construction sites, including marine, Heavy Lift and General Lifting Operations - both on and offshore
    • Construction Industry Knowledge
    • Advanced experience of working within Heavy Lift Crane Operations Plant and equipment both onshore and offshore
    • Demonstration of successful participation within international teams
    • Full understanding of slinging and signalling techniques
    • A flexible approach to working, you should be able and willing to work away, overtime and to cover workloads during busy periods

    Our bespoke testing solutions are reinforced by our growing network of testing labs, strategically located around the UK. Our highly skilled testing specialists are focused on machinery safety and life extension for our customers. We use a whole range of non-destructive and destructive testing methods, both on site and at our labs.

    What will you be doing?

    We are looking for an NDT Technician with a focus on Radiography. You will be responsible for carrying out a range of NDT inspections to ensure compliance with statutory and/or legislative requirements. The successful candidate will join the South Shields team in our enclosure and also out in the field supporting our customers.

    As an NDT Technician, you will:

    Traveling across the North East region, including potential travel across the UK.
    Undertaking and inspections using NDT techniques such as Radiography.
    Working on sites such as the AWL factory, ship yards, manufacturing plants, power stations and gas terminals.
    Providing excellent service to our Customers, including and especially when representing the company on the Customers Site.
    Working on equipment such as compressors, pipework and high pressure gauges.
    Interpret and evaluate test results.
    Carry out all relevant equipment checks and calibrations.
    Collecting, collating and reporting with sketches, where applicable, the result of the NDT examination.
    Present reports containing all relevant information in a factual, comprehensive and unambiguous manner.
    Maintain all records as per specific client contract.
    Utilise different pieces of technology and software to carry out reports and other documentation.
    Work to international standards ensuring requirements within them are met.

    A PCN Level 2 in Radiography
    Additional qualifications would be beneficial such as dye pen, MPI or visual inspection
    IT Skills for report writing (training will be provided for specific systems)
