    We have a fantastic opportunity for a Quality Manager to join our Integrated Management System Team working on our long-term contracts. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining our certification to ISO 9001 and associated registrations and ensuring compliance and the delivery of continual improvement on our M80 and A92 DBFO contracts.

    We are looking for self-motivated individuals with excellent communication skills, flexible and hold a valid UK Driving Licence.

    This is a full-time permanent position. Standard hours are 40 Hours, Monday – Friday. We offer a hybrid working policy of up to 2 days at home after 3 months of working for the company.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineer or Technician to join our existing team on a full-time basis. You will be responsible for the investigation, design and delivery of a range of road improvement projects on the NW Unit as part of an annual programme of investment.

    Applications from recent graduates will also be considered.

    Working in the Northwest Unit offers an opportunity to enhance skills and professional development in a rewarding environment through delivery of solutions to wide ranging engineering challenges.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    To support the Vehicle Restraint System Programme of Improvements Opportunity to work in other areas such as traffic sign and road marking design, drainage design, footway and layby improvements Apply Design standards and Engineering judgement in the investigation and design of trunk road improvement projects Preparation of reports, drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and pre-construction information to be passed to either an internal contractor team or taken through external procurement and tendering processes

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

    Professionally Qualified, or with a clear pathway to becoming professionally qualified Experience with AutoCAD Software (Essential) Working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (Essential) Experience of Civils 3D software along with Design Package such as KeySigns, KeyLines etc is desirable Experience with Construction, Design and Management Regulations Good Communication Skills Ability to prioritise work and work to deadlines A Valid UK Driving Licence is required

    The South East Trunk Road Unit spans 506km through some of the busiest sections of the country, from central Scotland to through the Scottish Borders. Trunk roads in the South East range from the major multi-lane motorways across the central belt to roads through villages in the borders.

    We have vacancies for Highway Maintenance Operatives to join our existing operations team. The Highway Maintenance Operative will report to Operations Supervisor and Operations Manager and will be responsible to help keeping Scotland moving.

    This is a full-time role with Standby Rota and Overtime available.

    Responsibilities and Activities

    The erection and removal of temporary signs and barriers (permanent signs and barriers). Preparation, application, compaction and removal of soils, rocks, coated and other materials. Hot material patching by hand. Drainage works, excavation, pipe laying, kerb laying, scrub cutting. Installation and fixing of temporary/permanent road furniture. Operation of power tools, small plant and machinery. Driving vehicles including those with simple attachments such as tractors. Prepare written returns including fault report details. Responsibility for the health and safety of the public, colleagues and yourself. Participating in our winter and emergency response service on a standby rota basis. Winter maintenance duties which include fitting gritter body and blade, driving gritter and spread salt by hand if required.

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    Previous experience as a roadworker is desirable, however training can be provided. There is a requirement to undertake training and to achieve competence in aspects of the job. Knowledge of the requirement for Health and Safety rules and procedures. Physically fit for working in sometimes arduous conditions. Experience of using small plant. Holding tickets for plant, traffic management, and Health and Safety an advantage. Full UK driving license preferably at LGV Class C level.
