PURPOSE OF THE ROLE We are looking to recruit a high calibre Accountant to join our Finance Operations team based in Cardiff with some flexibility i.e. hybrid working. The role will sit in the Capital and Leasing team with a focus on Capital accounting. WHY JOIN THE TEAM The team is at the heart of BBC Finance, delivering an integrated, sustainable and high quality process accounting and reporting service to our business and finance customers across the BBC Group. YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT As an Accountant your key duties will involve some or all of the following: Maintenance of the Fixed asset register - including changes to locations, asset owners, disposals and write offs, impairments Aged AUC reviews and depreciation reviews - confirming the charges have been allocated correctly and value is correct Performing asset verification, either via physical site visits or via Teams meetings, to confirm the assets are still in use Undertake impairment reviews of assets Attend Project Review Meetings, provide SME advice on accounting treatment Contribute to reporting processes to ensure the financial position and performance of different sections of the BBC Group is understood and key issues are rectified, ensuring appropriate process is observed with control over sub ledgers and integration with the general ledger Manage the accurate recording of transactions in the ERP general ledger, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal controls and improving efficiency and controls of financial processes, methodologies and environments where possible Support the efficient delivery of internal and external audits (including preparation of annual reports and other external reporting requirements) Collaborate with key partners and stakeholders including our outsourced partner, other finance teams, divisional and group stakeholders where appropriate Document and implement accounting judgements in accordance with BBC policy and accounting standards Compile and review balance sheet reconciliations supported by appropriate testing, ensuring full compliance with internal controls and our minimum expected requirements, with fully evidenced and substantiated balances.' PURPOSE OF THE ROLE This is a front-line commercial role with a clear mandate: grow branded content revenue by turning the strength of BBC Studios' premium IP, global fandoms and creative capabilities into partnerships that brands and agencies want to buy. We are looking for a commercial storyteller and a disciplined closer in equal measure: able to sell with authority, collaborate with creative and editorial teams, navigate complex stakeholder environments and keep close grip on pipeline, pricing, forecasting and delivery. WHY JOIN THE TEAM Reporting to the Group Sales Director, you will own a personal revenue target and lead the pursuit of high-value branded content opportunities across an allocated portfolio of agencies and clients. You will build senior relationships, unlock briefs, shape bold multi-platform ideas and convert them into profitable, repeatable business. YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT: Take direct accountability for your individual target, building a strong pipeline and converting opportunities into profitable revenue. Maintain clear pace, coverage and momentum against plan. Build a high-impact growth plan, in partnership with the Group Sales Director (and your counterpart in Partner Sales), create and execute strategic account plans for priority agencies, clients and markets - identifying whitespace, growth sectors, new-budget opportunities and routes to multi-year partnership. Use audience insight, market intelligence and the distinctive power of BBC Studios brands and fandoms to originate compelling partnership opportunities before a formal brief exists. You have a wealth of IP from superstars such as Bluey to new and emerging IP. Lead the sales process from first conversation to signed contract: interrogating client challenges, shaping the commercial proposition, collaborating with Creative Solutions on the response, pricing confidently, negotiating effectively and closing decisively. Build senior client and agency relationships, developing trusted, influential relationships across agency leadership, strategy, investment and partnerships teams, as well as senior client marketers. Become known as a partner who brings both commercial clarity and standout ideas. Translate our premium IP, talent, social channels, digital reach and creative expertise into brand solutions that feel distinctive, audience-first and genuinely valuable - while respecting editorial and brand guardrails. Create repeatable, scalable revenue: Look beyond one-off campaigns. Build sponsorships, partnership platforms and multi-market solutions that can grow across audiences, territories, formats and time. Where the role includes direct reports or market representatives, set clear priorities, coach for performance and create a high-energy, accountable sales culture.
