Our Team:
Our UK Publishing People Team is based across London and Peterborough, and they support the Publishing Group Leadership Team and their Next Level Leaders and teams. The Focus of the Role: As our People Relations Partner, you’ll provide expert advice and hands-on support across complex employee relations, restructures, and TUPEs within UK Publishing. You’ll work closely with People Business Partners to deliver commercially focused, risk-aware people solutions, empowering managers with pragmatic, solution-driven guidance. This role is key to upholding high standards of employee relations and ensuring decisions align with UK employment law and our company values. This role will be in a hybrid working model, so 2 days in either our London or Peterborough office, and the rest working from home. Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations and Case Management – Provide specialist advice and hands on support in managing complex employee relations cases, including conduct, performance, grievance and absence.
Coach and guide line managers to handle issues early and directly, reinforcing ownership and accountability within the business.
Support ER activity to be compliant with employment law, internal policies and the ACAS Code of Practice.
Maintain oversight of case activity and ensure documentation and outcomes are consistent and fair. Change and Restructure Support – Support People Business Partners and managers with organisational change programmes, including restructures, redundancies and TUPE transfers.
Coordinate collective consultation processes, prepare documentation, and ensure timelines, communications and outcomes are managed effectively.
Provide clear, pragmatic advice to minimise risk while maintaining a people centred approach during change.
Contribute to continuous improvement in how organisational change and consultation are delivered.
Manage Capability and Coaching – Support the capability and confidence of line managers to manage people matters effectively.
Provide coaching, templates and toolkits that promote consistency and clarity in how people issues are handled.
Support the embedding of a culture of feedback, fairness and accountability. Data, Insight and Policy – Maintain accurate records of ER activity and ensure case data is logged.
Provide regular reporting and insight on ER trends, case volumes and risk areas.
Support the continuous improvement of policies, templates and procedures to ensure clarity and compliance. What You’ll Bring: Significant knowledge of UK employment law, HR policy, and employee relations best practice.
Significant experience managing complex employee relations cases and supporting organisational change, include TUPE and collective consultation.
Excellent communication, influencing and coaching skills with the ability to build credibility across all levels.
Highly organised, detail-focused and able to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and accurate documentation. Closing Date: Sunday 7th December
