    This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving national charity, as part of a high-performing, ambitious Business Development team. You will use a wide range of commercial and interpersonal skills to develop the way our services support children, young people and families. The core area of your work will be working with teams of Barnardo's colleagues to produce compelling proposals to commissioners and partners.     Make an impact where it matters We're looking for an experienced and motivated Financial Accountant to join our Finance team and lead critical pieces of work relating to the major accounting standard changes around the implementation of FRS102/IFRS16 right‑of‑use asset accounting and FRS102/IFRS15 changes to the recognition of contract income. This is a hands‑on, delivery-focused role that will shape how we account for leases and income and update the financial controls relating to these areas. You'll work as a senior member of the finance team, driving key improvements and supporting colleagues across Finance, Digital, Data & Technology, Children's Services, and other operational teams to ensure that this project is a success and completed for our March 2027 year end.  If you're a qualified accountant who enjoys owning complex accounting projects from end to end, improving processes, and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, we'd love to hear from you. What you'll be doing Lead the implementation of FRS102/IFRS16 right‑of‑use asset accounting, working on all aspects of the project, including data preparation Lead improvements to contract income recognition (FRS102/IFRS15) in collaboration with colleagues from across the organisation Drive process improvement and financial control to allow the organisation to successfully process and account for these changes and prepare accurate management and statutory accounts, managing the transition to the new processes. What we're looking for Education & Qualifications A qualified accountant (ICAEW, ICAS, ACCA or equivalent) with significant financial accounting experience in a large, diverse organisation. Experience in voluntary or public sector organisations is desirable. Experience You will have: Hands‑on experience working with FRS102/IFRS16/IFRS15 accounting frameworks and implementing the changes. Strong experience delivering work to tight deadlines. A track record of reviewing and transforming finance processes. Ability to influence, engage and clearly communicate complex issues to a wide audience. Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering projects end‑to‑end. Skills & Abilities Strong technical knowledge of FRS102 and the Charities SORP. About the Services 2a High Street – 7 units of accommodation, staffed 24/7 by a dedicated team. Mariners View – 11 self-contained flats with visiting support from our team. Both services provide short-term housing and tailored support for vulnerable young people who are not yet ready to live independently. About the Role - As a Support Worker, you will add to our existing bank of reliable and high quality workers to assist us in the delivery of these services. We regularly need additional staffing cover, particularly in the event of staff vacancies or illness, and wish to identify suitable individuals to provide this vital service.
