ASD Teaching AssistantLocation: OL9 Contract: Full-time | Monday–Friday, 8:00am–3:30pm
Pay: From £13.50 per hour (dependent on experience) We are seeking a compassionate and motivated ASD teaching assistant to join our welcoming and supportive school community in Salford. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within a structured and nurturing environment. As an ASD Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching and SEN staff to provide tailored support that meets each pupil’s individual needs. Key Responsibilities:
•Support the delivery of Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) alongside the class teacher
• Use ASD-specific strategies to promote learning, engagement, and social development
• Support pupils with challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management approaches
• Adapt learning activities to promote inclusion and accessibility
• Support communication development, including PECS, Makaton, or other communication tools
• Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing observations with the wider SEN team
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
• Engage in ongoing professional development related to ASD and SEN best practice The School Environment:

• A strong focus on routine, communication, and positive behaviour support You will ideally have:
• Experience supporting children, particularly those with ASD
• A strong understanding of ASD and diverse learning needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
