    We are seeking a highly motivated and committed Teaching Fellow in Business Management to support and enhance our Aston London teaching provision. This role is primarily teaching-focused and will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Strategic Management, Leadership, and Management Consultancy. The postholder will be based in London, with occasional contribution to Birmingham-based teaching as required.

    The successful candidate will hold a Master's degree in a relevant Business or Management discipline and demonstrate clear subject expertise in areas such as Strategic Management, Leadership, or Management Consultancy. You will have experience of teaching and assessing within a degree programme to high standards, with demonstrable impact on student learning. Experience of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level is also required. Experience of supervising undergraduate and/or postgraduate dissertation projects is essential, alongside the ability to maintain a visible and professional on-site presence at Aston London, with reasonable adjustments provided where required.

    The postholder will report to the Head of the Leadership and Management Department.

    This management Knowledge Transfer Partnership (mKTP) aims to develop, test, and embed a new rigorous evaluation framework to support decision-making and assess the effectiveness of service design, delivery and workforce planning for Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHC) so that its Community Care Collaborative (CCC) partnership model can improve patient experience and outcomes through the care they receive.

    This mKTP will deliver a strategic shift in BCHC's operational model by embedding data-driven decision-making and rigorous service evaluation. The aim is to enable evidence-based service design that improves clinical outcomes and reduces health inequalities, directly supporting the NHS 10-Year Plan.

    Candidate Profile:

    A minimum MSc in Organisational Psychology or Public Health (or equivalent qualification), with experience of complex project management and mixed-method analysis. Ideally with experience in activities related to community, health and social development.

    Skills/experience required include:

    Essential for the role:Experience of collecting and analysing quantitative and qualitative data.Understanding of GDPR and Data Collection policies.Strong numerical and analytical skills.Understanding of ethical issues and approvals.Desirable for the role:Experience in health-service operations management.Experience of systems evaluation.Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.Experience/knowledge of change management.Main responsibilities: To develop a rigorous Plan-Do-Check-Act (P-D-C-A) evaluation framework for the Community Care Collaborative (CCC) and embed a culture change to adopting a data-driven, integrated approach to implementation and evaluation.To complete an audit of implementation activities across the CCC in three localities (one retrospective, one prospective, one control).To evaluate integrated care across diverse services, where fragmented data systems and inconsistent metrics hinder analysis.To introduce different methods of collecting qualitative data, related to staff and patient experience, including data related to systems mapping/modelling.To develop acceptable and feasible strategies for measuring the equity of access to healthcare services delivered within the CCC to ensure adjustments are made to maximise patient access and streamline staff resources. We are therefore seeking to recruit a Teaching Fellow with a teaching specialism in Marketing for a 2-year fixed-term post in Aston London, with some potential occasional contribution to Birmingham-based teaching. This is a primarily teaching-focused role that will contribute to Undergraduate and Postgraduate modules in Marketing, provide student support and citizenship at our Aston London Campus.

    The successful applicant will have a good first degree and at least a Master's degree in Marketing, relevant professional qualifications and teaching qualifications. You will have experience of teaching and assessing within a degree programme to high standards, with demonstrable impact on student learning, and experience of teaching at Undergraduate and/or Postgraduate level.     An exciting opportunity has arisen in our small, friendly client-side estates team for a project manager to undertake a wide range of capital development, refurbishment and infrastructure works generally from £50k to £3m per project on our city centre campus.

    You will manage a variety of redevelopment and refurbishment projects including new teaching spaces, agile workspaces and research facilities of a varying size and scope that will fulfil the university's ambitious growth plans. You will manage a design team where required and also specify and design smaller works. You will be responsible for the whole project process from conception and gathering the brief, through to ensuring a timely completion within budget.

    We provide generous annual leave, and are very flexible in our approach. We operate an agile working policy whereby you may work where best suits the activity, including working at home if desired, although attendance on campus is expected to be three days per week on average and as required by the projects in motion.

    You will need substantial previous experience (minimum of three years) of UK based construction project management of similar values with a high proportion of that being refurbishment, to be considered for the role. You must have experience of managing design teams and designing and specifying small works. You must be pc literate and have experience of Microsoft Project. You will be customer focused and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, with careful and sensitive management of user expectation being highly valued.

    The Supergen Bioenergy Impact Hub (SGBIH) has secured funding to drive forward impact in UK bioenergy deployment by identifying national potential and regional economic impacts of bioenergy implementation. The work will be led by an Economic Development Manager and this role will support them to deliver the project.

    That will involve working with SGBIH researchers and local/regional authorities across the United Kingdom to identify the wider economic development impact of strategic implementation of sustainable bioenergy and bioproducts in the UK. You will develop appropriate monitoring and reporting procedures for the project and implement these to track progress against objectives. That will require developing professional relationships with project partners and other stakeholders, creating, maintaining and improving administrative and financial systems, planning and facilitating events and supporting delivery of professional reports and media outputs.

    The role is available one day per week for a fixed term and would be a great opportunity for someone seeking a secondment, additional challenge or broader experience.

    Applications are invited for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the vibrant, supportive team of Professor Roslyn Bill at Aston and Oxford Universities. This is a full-time, fixed-term position at Oxford University lasting for 29 months.

    The successful candidate will be funded by Professor Bill's ERC Advanced Grant, which investigates how the subcellular relocalization of the water channel, aquaporin 4, dynamically regulates glymphatic clearance. When glymphatic clearance is impaired, toxic waste products can accumulate within brain tissue leading to conditions such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases; worldwide over 55 million people currently live with dementia and there is no cure.

    The focus of the candidate's work within the ERC project will be to build a controlled microenvironment in the form of a gliovascular interface on a chip in order to make detailed measurements of glymphatic regulation using advanced imaging techniques.

    The successful candidate will have completed a PhD or a PhD near completion in cell biology, bioengineering, bioscience, molecular biology or a related field. Candidates should have extensive experience of working with microfluidic chips, mammalian cell culture and advanced imaging techniques.
