Job Description \n PSV Mechanic – Join Arriva\n \n \n \n Be part of the future of public transport with Arriva.\n \n \n We’re looking for skilled PSV Mechanics to help keep our fleet safe, reliable, and road-ready — including the latest electric buses and cutting-edge vehicle technology.\n \n \n \n £26.35 per hour (£54,808 per year)\n \n Full-time | 5 out of 7 shift rota - (mornings, afternoons & late shifts)\n \n Free bus travel for you & your household\n \n Ongoing training & EV upskilling\n \n 25 days holiday\n \n \n \n What you’ll do: \n \n • Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and safety inspections on buses \n \n • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and air system faults\n \n • Repair engines, brakes, steering, suspension, and other vehicle parts\n \n • Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections\n \n • Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately\n \n • Follow health & safety procedures at all times\n \n • Work closely with the workshop team\n \n • Assist with breakdowns and emergency repairs when needed\n \n • Keep the workshop clean and organised\n \n • Manage and order parts when required\n \n \n \n What we’re looking for: \n \n ✔ NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.\n \n ✔ PSV/HGV mechanical experience - preferably within a bus or coach environment.\n \n ✔ Strong fault-finding & diagnostic skills.\n \n ✔ Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.\n \n ✔ Full UK Driving Licence (PCV licence - Cat D highly desirable)\n \n \n \n Why Arriva? \n \n We’re investing in the future of public transport.
