Support ranges from 16 hours a week to 24 hour support – due to the nature of support we provide shift patterns are variable to meet the needs of the individual. We support a wide range of ages from 18 – 70+. Support varies based on the individuals needs and wishes – this could be personal care, medication and finances, meal preparation, support to appointments, household tasks or accessing the community.Our supported people enjoy a wide variety of activities such as going out for lunch, bowling, trampolining, swimming, darts, football, snooker, spending time with their families and going on holidays. An increasing number of our supported people have mobility cars which widens opportunity for activities in the community. We always try to make goals happen for people this could be exploring courses to support people with employability or trying a new activity. Part of this development will provide housing to those with additional support needs who will require Care & Support packages.We are now looking for Full time Support Workers to help us deliver these new Support Packages.You will be joining our amazing team of Support Workers who already operate the small outreach service that is situated in Dedridge.Our support workers support our people using a person centred approach to live in their own homes and to live their lives to their full potential and be included in the community.Livingston Service already supports 3 people out in the community in their own homes. Some of these supported people need 24 hour support and others only need short periods of support.There will be 3 new Supported People requiring 24 hour care with a variety of complex needs (including Autism, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health an Epilepsy) joining the service.We are looking for enthusiastic, experienced, and motivated individuals however experience is preferred but not essential. All our supported people live within the same street as our office meaning that there is always support from other team members nearby. We support people with a wide range of support needs including autism and physical disabilities. 3 of our supported people require 24 hour support with 2 requiring 2 to 1 care. The other 2 supported people require drop in support throughout the day including housing, social and medication support.Please note that this role includes Sleepover* shifts.*A sleepover shift consists of working during the day, a rest period sleeping over in the service between 11pm - 7am and then working again the next day. Sleepover shift are typically 24 hours in length e.g. 10am - 10am or 3pm - 3pm.
