    Mechanical Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer Arc Partnership is a joint venture between Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) and SCAPE. Formed in 2016 to support the council in creating an efficient, safe, and sustainable land and property portfolio. We deliver multi-disciplinary services and consult, design, build, manage and maintain on behalf of NCC and the communities and people it represents. We provide value for money, quality of output and customer excellence to support regeneration and economic growth for Nottinghamshire The role will support primarily Arc Partnerships projects including their principal designer, designer and principal contractor appointments but you'll also have the opportunity supporting the wider Scape Group, and Lungfish Architects. Your new role: We're looking for a Senior or an already established Mechanical Engineer from a construction / design environment background to join our established team. Reporting to the Head of Mechanical Engineering you'll be responsible for delivering comprehensive designs, calculations, detailed drawings and intricate schematics, to meet client briefs after undertaking feasibility studies and site surveys.  You'll be expert in using and working with Revit, Hevacomp, Stabicad or similar relevant design tools. Not only will you be used to meeting relevant British Standards, Building Regulations, but also be compliant with energy efficiency and sustainability coupled with proficiency in mechanical building services design, and a deep comprehension of technical requirements, legislation, and industry best practice. What you'll do:  Create and develop designs that meet and satisfy client briefs in co-operation with other design professionals. Ensure that the designs are delivered within the planned programme for projects and that the designs are within budget. Provide exceptional proficiency in mechanical building services design, and a deep comprehension of technical requirements, legislation, and industry best practiceUtilise the most effective procurement methods to achieve the best delivery of projects for the client and raising their awareness of the services provided by Arc.Liaise with and seek approval as required from statutory and regulating bodies for additional services e.g. Planning and Building Control etc.Carry out feasibility studies, site surveys, site inspections and monitoring. Ensure witness testing, commissioning and handover of mechanical installations are effectively carried out. What you'll bring:
    You'll have significant experience in mechanical services design from first principles for above ground drainage, domestic water services, natural gas, LTHW Heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.You'll have significant experience in designing, specifying and, site surveying of multiple types of building projects. Demonstrable evidence of use of design packages to enable preparation of mechanical designs. Demonstrable experience in the preparation of feasibility studies / option appraisals. Demonstrable experience assisting with the preparation of cost estimates / control coupled with financial monitoring, contractual management and negotiating with clients. 
    Essential: HNC (or equivalent) in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a broad range of relevant post-graduation monitored professional work experience       Demonstrable knowledge of CDM pertaining to the design function of projectDesirable:Member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) Revit / Stabicad design software experience Our core values - Accountable, Collaborative, Expert, Efficient, Innovative and Sustainable - ensure that we support you and work together effectively as a team and through our partnerships.   What we offer you: An attractive package (based on experience). You'll play an important role in supporting the delivery of asbestos management services across a diverse property portfolio, undertaking surveys, providing technical advice, and supporting compliance with statutory requirements.Working closely with colleagues across Arc Partnership, including project managers and multi-disciplinary teams, you'll help ensure asbestos risks are effectively identified, assessed, and managed across a range of public sector buildings. Your new roleThe Asbestos Assessor role is client facing, supporting the delivery of asbestos management and assessment services on behalf of Arc Partnership producing clear and accurate survey reports in line with current legislation and guidance.You'll work closely with the Compliance Manager (Asbestos) as part of an existing team to support the effective management of asbestos, implementation of asbestos management plans, providing advice and guidance to internal teams, contractors, and clients.The role will involve regular site visits across Nottinghamshire and the wider area, carrying out surveys in a variety of building types including schools, offices, and operational sites. You'll also support the review of asbestos registers and contribute to maintaining accurate records to support compliance with statutory duties.You'll be expected to maintain a strong understanding of current legislation, guidance, and industry best practice relating to asbestos management.  What you'll bringAs our Asbestos Assessor, we're looking for someone who wants to make a difference, with experience of undertaking asbestos surveys or other asbestos related roles and supporting clients and stakeholders in managing asbestos safely and effectively.You'll be organised, detail-focused, and confident working both independently on site and collaboratively with colleagues and clients.A basic understanding of wider construction risk areas such as fire and legionella would be beneficial but is not essential. EssentialHold BOHS P402 - Building Surveys and Bulk Sampling for Asbestos.Experience undertaking asbestos management and refurbishment/demolition surveys.Knowledge of the use of asbestos in construction and its typical locations, including system buildings (e.g. CLASP).Knowledge of statutory health and safety requirements relating to the management of asbestos in buildings.Experience producing clear, accurate asbestos survey reports and maintaining asbestos registers.Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.Full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle for business use and willingness to travel to sites across Nottinghamshire. DesirableMembership of a relevant recognised professional body (e.g. Faculty of Asbestos Assessment and Management (FAAM)).BOHS P405 qualification or additional asbestos-related competencies.Experience working within Local Government or the wider Public Sector.A basic understanding of sustainability in the workplace and a commitment to supporting the business with its carbon reduction strategy. What we offer youA salary up to £33,000 based on experience.Travel expenses, to and from site.Local Government Pension Scheme including generous employer contributions of 19.6% and life assurance of 3x salary.BUPA Private Medical Insurance.25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays and additional birthday leave.Enhanced paternity and maternity pay.The role is home based, visiting sites mainly in the Nottinghamshire area but will have a potential requirement to visit surrounding counties on occasion, with a requirement to visit our Nottingham Office on a regular basis for meetings.

We believe in creating meaningful change, and since 2016, we've been a strategic partner for Nottinghamshire County Council.  We are looking to recruit an experienced Architectural Technologist with significant professional experience in a similar UK based role to join Arc Partnership's architectural team - an RIBA chartered practice. Working within the Design Team, Ideally you'll have a mature understanding of the sector with extensive hands on and strategic exposure within a similar portfolio. This role will lead in the preparation of architectural and technical design solutions, coordinating design information, and specification writing whilst delivering a comprehensive design service in an efficient, effective and economic manner.
