This is a pivotal role supporting our Major Infrastructure programme, including landmark projects like the Lincs and Fens Reservoirs. You'll provide expert planning consent and other statutory consenting legal advice, helping to shape and protect the company's interests in complex, high-value infrastructure developments. What will you be doing as a Planning and Consenting Solicitor? Advising on consenting strategy for authorising proposed development works.   Advising on all aspects of required applications for Development Consent Orders (DCOs) for major infrastructure projects under the Planning Act 2008, including the required scope of powers, application documentation, interface with interested parties and landowners and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) and Water Framework Directive issues, amongst other aspects.   Advising on all aspects of required applications for planning permission under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, including all statutory processes and procedures such as (as necessary) planning appeals and planning inquiries.  Advising on permitted development rights; general EIA, HRA and WFD issues; discharge of planning conditions and DCO requirements/obligations; Environmental Permitting and Abstraction Licensing regimes Advising on highway law-related matters (eg under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991)  Related planning legal agreements (e.g. s106 agreements)   General ancillary consent requirements, including those needed from Natural England and other statutory bodies. Advising on compulsory acquisition related matters including the application of the Water Industry Act powers ​What does it take to be a Planning and Consenting Solicitor? You'll tackle issues in our network including blockages, odours, flooding and incidents. You'll deliver exceptional service levels to our customers while adhering to environmental regulatory standards. As part of our standby roster, you'll be ready to tackle additional out-of-hours work, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery.
