The Role As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a key role in keeping our customer’s automated systems operating at peak performance. You’ll be part of a small, skilled team, providing both planned and reactive maintenance across conveyors, AMRs, and automated handling systems within a fast-paced logistics environment. Location: Lymedale, near Stoke-on-Trent
    Salary: Up to £47,000 (inclusive of shift allowance)
    Hours: 12-hour shifts, days and nights inc weekends What you’ll be doing: · Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responding quickly to breakdowns · Supporting site uptime and performance against KPIs · Working safely to H&S standards, ensuring compliance with AMH and client policies · Using the CMMS system to record, plan and complete maintenance tasks · Supporting continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability · Maintaining clear communication with the engineering and operations teams · Ensuring all documentation and reports are accurate and up to date This is a hands-on, technically varied role where you’ll work with the latest automation technologies and gain exposure to some of the most advanced logistics engineering systems in the UK. What We’re Looking For We’re looking for an adaptable, reliable engineer who enjoys problem-solving, continuous learning, and teamwork. The Role Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for: Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and ensuring all activities are recorded in our Computerised Maintenance Management System. Diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a wide range of advanced automated equipment. Responding to breakdowns, balancing proactive and reactive work to keep production flowing. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to boost performance and reduce downtime. Mentoring less experienced engineers and sharing knowledge across the team. Upholding high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping. A typical day includes PPM inspections, attending morning briefings, analysing data, and tackling robot or packaging equipment repairs. Breakdowns are less frequent thanks to our strong systems, so your expertise really adds value when things get tough. What We’re Looking For Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer (or proven Electrical Engineer with transferable skills). ONC/HNC or NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (or equivalent). Experience in automation, manufacturing, or installation is highly desirable. Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and communication skills. A proactive, can-do attitude and a collaborative, team-first approach. Salary & Benefits £47,500 base salary (inclusive of shift allowance). Realistic OTE £50,000–£52,000, with scope to earn more through overtime. Performance-based six-monthly bonus. 22 days holiday plus site closure on Christmas Eve night/Christmas Day. 3% matched pension and death-in-service benefit worth 6x salary. Structured training and development plans, including electrical courses, mentoring, and access to unique “Easy Works” knowledge packs created in-house to fast-track learning.
