This role will provide strategic and practical legal counsel to Human Resources, business leaders, and the Legal Department on a broad range of employment-related issues, including litigation.The successful candidate will have deep expertise in European employment law, excellent writing, and oral communication skills, be able to establish relationships of trust with HR and business partners and be able to collaborate with colleagues in the Law Department.Responsibilities:Advise HR and business leaders on significant and complex employment law matters across multiple European jurisdictions, with a primary focus on cross-border matters and employment issues supported by the Staff Relations team.Manage employment litigation, administrative claims, and disputes, including oversight of outside counsel.Provide legal guidance on employee relations issues, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations.Partner with regional HR and Staff Relations team to identify and mitigate employment-related legal risks in cross country initiatives while supporting business objectives.Coordinate with local counsel on country-specific labor and employment law issues throughout Europe as needed.Collaborate with colleagues across the Law Department and other functions to deliver practical, business-focused legal solutions and act as a subject-matter expert and escalation point for complex, sensitive, novel or cross-border employment law matters.Be part of our teamYou will join the Employment Law Team within Amgen’s Law Organization, a supportive and collaborative environment that partners closely with Law Department colleagues across Europe.WINWhat we expect of youWe are all different, yet united by our shared commitment to serving patients.
