    About the Opportunity

    Amentum is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.

    The Project

    The Sellafield Product and Residue Store Retreatment Plant (SRP), being delivered by the Programme and Project Partners (PPP), will safely receive all special nuclear material packages from existing storage locations across the Sellafield site before retreating them into new 100-year packages for safe storage. The SRP facility will enable all special nuclear material to remain safe and secure in its store into the next century and beyond and therefore plays a key role in delivering Sellafield's purpose to create a clean and safe environment for future generations.

    The Role

    SRP now has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join the team in Birchwood, Warrington.

    As a Senior Mechanical Designer your responsibilities could include:
    Production of computer aided design drawings from concept level through to manufacturing detail, meeting relevant standards and specifications. Ensuring design deliverables meet required standards of accuracy and quality, that all drawings are appropriately verified and performing verification of colleagues' drawings. Deliver mechanical work scope, production and checking, reporting to a Principal Engineer. Produce detail drawings using Inventor / AutoCAD software (including familiarity with Inventor Vault), including GA's, manufacturing details, Layout drawings. Modify and update existing drawings and diagrams as the design matures during testing and manufacture.
    As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will already have:
    Qualification to HNC Standard as a minimum in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience and knowledge. Knowledge of Autodesk Products (Autocad, Inventor, RECAP) plus other 3D systems Competent working within standards and procedures (BS 8888). Experience of working within a highly regulated industry

    About the Opportunity:

    We are looking to recruit an experienced nuclear graphite engineer to help support life extension of the current AGR fleet of nuclear stations and to continue to develop and deliver a strategy for expanding the client base beyond the traditional customers. As part of the team, you will be delivering important solutions to real problems, meeting the UK energy demands and carbon emissions targets.

    The successful candidate will have a sound nuclear graphite and structural integrity background. You will support current clients as they strive to extend the lifetime of their plant and continue to develop the Team's strategy for developing a more extensive client base. We have developed relationships with vendors of new graphite moderated reactor designs. You will develop these relationships using your knowledge of nuclear graphite as well as your aptitude for business development. The position will offer the opportunity for career development and a path into leadership roles.

    You will be part of our Structural Analysis and Assessment Team. The team comprises a broad range of Engineering and Scientific experts spanning mathematics, physics, structural and mechanical engineering, software development, finite-element stress analysis, and structural integrity analysis and assessment. We provide these services to a range of customers, mainly but not exclusively in the nuclear industry, to ensure the economic and safe operation of capital-intensive plant, from both government and private industry. We also actively participate in a number of national and international projects and work closely with other parts of the business to provide integrated solutions to client requirements.

    The team excels at hybrid working, with some days at home and others in our offices in Warrington, Knutsford and Manchester.

    Key responsibilities
    Using finite-element analysis (FEA) and other methods to model critical components of a nuclear reactor. Discussing and developing bespoke engineering solutions with colleagues and customers. Technical oversight and leadership of several projects relating to nuclear graphite. Implementing and further developing the business strategy for expanding the team's client base. Producing high-quality technical reports. Assisting in maintaining and developing the technical capability and knowledge of the team. Representing the business in technical meetings and at conferences. Liaising with various internal and external stakeholders; including universities to drive innovation and delivery.
    Here's what you'll need:
    Degree in any numerate, scientific or engineering discipline. Familiarity with nuclear graphite and the effects of irradiation. Experience of using FEA software packages, e.g., ABAQUS. Reliable analytical skills, able to interpret results, relating them to the real world and presenting them clearly to key stakeholders. Ability to write well-structured reports that present clear arguments.

    The Role

    BEPPS2 now has an exciting opportunity to recruit a BIM Manager to join the team in Birchwood, Warrington.

    As a BIM Manager your responsibilities could include:
    Capturing client requirements and developing BIM strategies to meet those requirements. Managing the roll out and implementation of the key BIM documentation within a client organisation, across a programme of works and at project level. Interfacing with clients, design teams and contractors implementing BIM methodologies and best practice from strategy level through to project delivery. The ability to lead & manage a small team, in a Multidiscipline environment. Conducting structured check, review and validation procedures of project models including clash detection and validation of data against information requirements .
    As a BIM Manager you will have:
    An Understanding of the emerging technology market that can support our clients & delivery. An understanding of international BIM standards which define BIM in accordance with ISO 19650.     About the Role

    This is a new role that covers three businesses operating across the globe and as such will be an extremely interesting and challenging role. To lead quality and deploy the UK Defence, International & Digital Business Units Quality and Performance Excellence strategies, ensuring alignment to the D&AS, EE&I and Amentum organisations Enterprise Quality Strategy.

    The role is responsible for ensuring an elevated quality culture where everyone realises their role in quality, making sure that each one of our products, our people, our processes, and services demonstrably meets or exceeds their stated needs. The role includes leadership, development and mentoring of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control resources within the lines of business, ensuring sufficient competent resources are identified, budgeted for, and deployed. The role will require face to face support and management of these resources.

    As part of the Defence and Asset Solutions Quality leadership team, this role will contribute to strategic decision making, collaboration across functions to drive organisational goals and play a key role in sustained superior performance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Head of Quality and Performance Excellence
    To promote and develop a culture of collaboration, quality ownership, and continuous improvement across all functions and levels of the organization. Promote knowledge sharing and teamwork to ensure consistent application of quality best practices across the business unit. Drive employee engagement by instilling a shared vision of quality excellence and accountability.
    Drive performance excellence through application of the Business Management System (BMS) and a consistent approach to applying enterprise tools. Be the BMS Champion, develop project, client specific processes, procedures, work instructions, guidance documents, training material and templates that complement the BMS to aid delivering a consistent approach to project delivery and ensure compliance to current legislation and our certifications.
    Ensure risk-based business assurance activities are performed with respect to conduct of business activity.
    Lead on Process/Performance improvement within three areas and support the use of improvement tools and techniques in support of a continual improvement agenda. Promote the adoption of digital tools for efficient monitoring, reporting, and management of quality metrics.
    Support the D&AS KPI initiatives as well as developing specific KPIs for the areas to ensure monitoring of critical activities and the development of action plans and initiatives to improve our processes and procedures and the services to our clients.
    Drive the integration of emerging technologies and innovative methodologies to enhance quality assurance and performance excellence. Leverage data from inspections, audits, and performance metrics to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement. Implement a structured approach to data-driven decision-making, ensuring continuous alignment with business objectives. Develop and present comprehensive quality performance reports, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
    Build and develop the team, implement strategies for upskilling and professional growth, promoting an inclusive and high-performing workforce ensuring appropriately SQEPd resources are deployed. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide mentorship, and create tailored development plans to enhance team capability. Ensure succession planning and talent retention by identifying and nurturing high-potential employees.
    Identify, develop, and implement new quality business/client offerings that can enhance delivery, client satisfaction, and business opportunities.
    Function as the primary representative for quality-related discussions with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align quality objectives with broader business goals.
    Participate with Business Development, support bids and tenders during the pursuit phase through development of any Quality proposals, including resource planning.
    Generate and manage an internal audit schedule across the business units. Ensuring the auditors are SQEPd to conduct the audits, ensure the schedule is developed based on business risks, client feedback, including NCRS, internal and external audit findings and client contract and statutory requirements. Audits to be conducted in line with the requirements of ISO 9001, the Amentum BMS and any client specific requirements and Licence site conditions. The schedule will also consider any EE&I or D&AS themed audits.
    Lead external and client audits.
    Be the main point of contact for the LOBs for QA/QC, to ensure the business can meet its current and future needs by understanding or developing their own skills and competency in either client of industry specific standards i.e. AS 9100 and country specific requirements e.g. UAE, Saudi, Australia etc. Support project initiation, planning, execution and close-out through implementation and application of the BMS, client Quality requirements/specifications and any other statutory, regulatory, or other applicable quality standards.
    Be the main point of contact for rolling out training on the new Amentum quality systems.
    Champion Enhance Solution and other value adding Amentum processes.
    Collaborate with project teams to ensure proactive identification and resolution of quality issues, enhancing client satisfaction. Develop action plans and drive continuous improvement initiatives based on audit findings, NCRs, expectation feedback, etc. ensuring alignment with industry regulations and organizational standards. Generate and deliver a monthly Quality brief.
    Support project governance activities, providing quality oversight of project work and reporting of project performance to Operational Management, attend and present at the OPRs and PARS as required. Reporting of quality and performance excellence metrics to the BU Leadership and D&AS quality Lead and identifying and implementing course corrections as required.
    Qualifications & Experience:
    Recognised as a practicing Quality Professional, ideally a member of the Chartered Quality Institute or equivalent. Familiar with the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 19443, AS9100 and the organisations BMS Familiar with the requirements of NATO AQAPs with respect to quality requirements Have an understanding or the drive to gain knowledge of certifications outside of the UK (UAE, Saudi. Europe and Australia) Have a Lead or internal management systems auditor qualification. Have good Quality knowledge with appropriate qualifications (MSc, CQI Diploma, Certificate, Six-Sigma) Management and leadership skills certification and demonstrable experience

    About the opportunity

    Energy Programmes is one of our newest Business Units and has been formed with the vision to support positive change and help shape the future of Nuclear Power. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Energy Power station.

    Amentum are currently recruiting a Construction Delivery Manager (Mechanical) who supports activities in the field relating to the construction of a designated section of the works and its on site facilitation. Specifically, installation of pressurized rotating equipment in the turbine hall during mechanical erection from the civil handover to the start of commissioning. It includes day to day on site supervision and direction of the works to safely and efficiently deliver the project.

    Role responsibilities:

    Support the contract partners in their delivery of the works packages to enable efficient delivery of the of their sections of works. Recommend temporary measures to mitigate against safety and/or quality concerns. Follow up by taking appropriate and proportionate action (e.g. issue communications, call meetings) to avoid the cessation of works. This includes but is not limited to review of documents, assurance audits, etc. Monitor works on site record findings in a construction daily site log, ensuring information is reported up through the organisation to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager. Escalate any issues/concerns via detailed reports. Proactively communicate/co-ordinate with site functions (H&S, quality, surveillance, commercial, project controls, logistics) and other Construction Delivery Managers to maintain good communication links, and ensure activity is well and timely reported. This will also include regular attendance at pre-start briefings and supporting the delivery of key messages to the contractor's organisation. Attend PLOD/PLOW and technical meetings with the contractor, ensuring outputs are recorded and issued to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager. Undertake and record safety and/or assurance inspections that support the project HSPI's. Ensure clear, two-way communication with the Construction Delivery Lead so that all activities and issues are directed appropriately.
    Qualifications

    Experience and knowledge in delivering projects, including construction sequencing, recovery plans and resource allocation Good understanding of CDM Regulations. Able to write informative, concise and meaningful reports. Motivate and energise contract partners by building a climate of trust and understanding and actively seeking alternative views and opinions. Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent mechanical vocational training and experience. SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    About the Opportunity 

    The Commercial function within the Enterprise Asset Solutions division of Amentum CMS provides the support to the Commercial and Procurement teams as well as the wider personnel outside of the Commercial function with a full range of pre and post contract commercial services.

    The candidate will be required to develop a close working relationship with the project teams, finance, sales departments and both Clients’ and Subcontractors’ representatives. They will be able to demonstrate suitable technical qualities for the role such as an excellent understanding of construction contracts and the importance of adhering to the principles of good contract management. A detailed knowledge of a variety of construction methods and experience in a variety of projects is preferable, but not essential.

    The role will require taking the commercial lead on our Hinkley Point C (Bridgwater, Somerset) project while providing business unit support where required on other projects and supporting the development of less experienced Surveyors within the team. Role functions include client/main contract activities as well as taking ownership of procurement schedules and management of subcontractors from project commencement through to delivery and completion. As such, the candidate will be expected to undertake travel to the HPC project as well as other locations to execute the works on an as required basis.

    Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

    Work with the Commercial Manager in ensuring consistency and best practice ways of working across the business unit to achieve continuous improvement

    Take commercial lead on projects, developing relationships with client teams to effectively deliver contract requirement

    Execution of NEC3/4 forms of contract including preparation of applications for payment, tracking pricing and implementation of change, supporting drafting of early warnings and providing contractual support and guidance to project management team.

    Provide support for Project Controls and Cost Engineers in order to submit cost reports for review by the Commercial Manager, to enable the utilisation of the data for cost forecasts, revenue, and gross margin assumptions/submissions.

    Ensure Sub-Contract arrangements are put in place when required using the NEC suite of Contract Documents, and correct administrative processes are put in place for management of these Sub-Contract paying attention to change controls, early warning, compensation events, changes to scope of works and payment.

    Maintain effective, accurate cost control, registers of variations, delay, extension of time, early warnings, and claims.

    Qualifications

    Suitably qualified and experienced in Quantity Surveying or similar Commercial roles.

    Excellent working knowledge of Construction Contracts, ideally with specific focus on the NEC forms of contract.

    Security Cleared or the ability to obtain the required level of clearance.

    Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.

    Ability to communicate confidently and work well under pressure.

    Hands on with a can-do attitude and excellent work ethic and the ability to work within a team and autonomously.

    As a BIM Manager your responsibilities could include:

    Capturing client requirements and developing BIM strategies to meet those requirements. 

    Managing the roll out and implementation of the key BIM documentation within a client organisation, across a programme of works and at project level. 

    Interfacing with clients, design teams and contractors implementing BIM methodologies and best practice from strategy level through to project delivery.
