About the Opportunity
Due to growth in the current portfolio within Decarbonisation Solutions a division of Infrastructure & Asset Solutions (I&AS) and Defence & Asset Solutions (D&AS) We have an exciting opportunity for a Project controller / Cost Engineer to join our client facing team supporting projects across several existing and new Projects around the country however the successful candidates will become part of a respected and ambitious team working from our Humber facility within Decarbonisation Solutions to support the growth and sustainability of the performance unit moving forward. I&AS is offering a truly fantastic opportunity which will allow the successful individual to be involved across multiple client sectors from inception through to final delivery.

Here’s What You’ll Need

• Application of project controls processes and systems utilisation.
• Project set up, close out and reconciliations.
• Ensuring correct cost allocation including project cost forecasting & project financial reviews
• Revenue and gross margin monitoring including monitoring of aged debt
• Ensuring corporate systems are up to date and an accurate reflection of the project.
• Regular interfacing and integration with the project controls team to maintain an aligned financial position with the project plan.
• Earned value analysis as well as monitoring key performance indicators as necessary
• Risk & opportunity management relative to the cost engineering role and contribute to the 'Lessons Learnt' process throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Include, but not limited to the following:
• Experienced with cost management systems such as Cost Point, Oracle, or equivalent
• Experience across all stages of the project life cycle
• Experience of working within NEC Projects
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular, Excel, Word, and Outlook
• HNC or equivalent qualification in an engineering/construction/project management-related discipline
• Strong communication skills, including writing reports & presenting
• High work ethic & standards
• Professional, self-motivated & reliable

About the Opportunity
The Commercial function within the Enterprise Asset Solutions division of Amentum CMS provides the support to the Commercial and Procurement teams as well as the wider personnel outside of the Commercial function with a full range of pre and post contract commercial services.
The candidate will be required to develop a close working relationship with the project teams, finance, sales departments and both Clients’ and Subcontractors’ representatives. They will be able to demonstrate suitable technical qualities for the role such as an excellent understanding of construction contracts and the importance of adhering to the principles of good contract management. A detailed knowledge of a variety of construction methods and experience in a variety of projects is preferable, but not essential.
The role will require taking the commercial lead on our Hinkley Point C (Bridgwater, Somerset) project while providing business unit support where required on other projects and supporting the development of less experienced Surveyors within the team. Role functions include client/main contract activities as well as taking ownership of procurement schedules and management of subcontractors from project commencement through to delivery and completion. As such, the candidate will be expected to undertake travel to the HPC project as well as other locations to execute the works on an as required basis.
Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
Work with the Commercial Manager in ensuring consistency and best practice ways of working across the business unit to achieve continuous improvement
Take commercial lead on projects, developing relationships with client teams to effectively deliver contract requirement
Execution of NEC3/4 forms of contract including preparation of applications for payment, tracking pricing and implementation of change, supporting drafting of early warnings and providing contractual support and guidance to project management team.
Provide support for Project Controls and Cost Engineers in order to submit cost reports for review by the Commercial Manager, to enable the utilisation of the data for cost forecasts, revenue, and gross margin assumptions/submissions.
Ensure Sub-Contract arrangements are put in place when required using the NEC suite of Contract Documents, and correct administrative processes are put in place for management of these Sub-Contract paying attention to change controls, early warning, compensation events, changes to scope of works and payment.
Maintain effective, accurate cost control, registers of variations, delay, extension of time, early warnings, and claims.
Qualifications
Suitably qualified and experienced in Quantity Surveying or similar Commercial roles.
Excellent working knowledge of Construction Contracts, ideally with specific focus on the NEC forms of contract.
Security Cleared or the ability to obtain the required level of clearance.
Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to communicate confidently and work well under pressure.
Hands on with a can-do attitude and excellent work ethic and the ability to work within a team and autonomously.
Flexible with working hours.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programmes.

As a BIM Manager your responsibilities could include:
Capturing client requirements and developing BIM strategies to meet those requirements.
Managing the roll out and implementation of the key BIM documentation within a client organisation, across a programme of works and at project level.
Interfacing with clients, design teams and contractors implementing BIM methodologies and best practice from strategy level through to project delivery.
The ability to lead & manage a small team, in a Multidiscipline environment.
Conducting structured check, review and validation procedures of project models including clash detection and validation of data against information requirements .
As a BIM Manager you will have:
An Understanding of the emerging technology market that can support our clients & delivery.
An understanding of international BIM standards which define BIM in accordance with ISO 19650.
A working knowledge of the creation and maintenance of key BIM documentation.
A working knowledge of the roles and relationships associated with a BIM enabled project.
