    About The Role If you love meeting new people and want to support people affected by dementia in your area, then we may have just the volunteer role for you! As a Group Support Volunteer, you’ll support and encourage people affected by dementia to engage in activities and socialise with others in a group setting. A friendly face at the group, you’ll welcome and talk to people affected by dementia to help them feel comfortable and make sure they’re offered refreshments. You’ll also help set up and tidy away at the end of the group. Your involvement in this role will ensure people affected by dementia are able to meet others in a similar situation, access the support and information they need and enjoy meaningful activities. This is a volunteer role for our Tea Dance in Clevedon, so there are not only opportunities to dance with our service users to music from the 60's, 70's and some 80's, but to sit and chat with them also. We ask that volunteers are able to help set-up the tables and chairs, help hand out refreshments and then help tidy up and put everything away.

    Clevedon Tea Dance, Tickenham Hall, 205 Clevedon Road, Tickenham, BS21 6RX.

    A once a month group held on the second Thursday of each month. Volunteers to start at 1:30pm. Service Users arrive from 2:00pm for a 2:15pm start. Refreshments are from 3:15 - 3:45pm. Then we finish at 4:00pm. Read Less

    About The Role If you’d like to support your local community by helping to ensure that people who are worried about or affected by dementia are aware of the support and advice services we offer, we have just the role for you! You’ll support local events, hold information stands, and display leaflets in a variety of venues and locations highly visible in your community, such as libraries and GP surgeries. You’ll make sure the information publicised in your community is up to date and accurate. You’ll also establish connections with local organisations and community groups to help achieve widespread awareness of the support we offer. As a representative of Alzheimer's Society, we will provide you with branded clothing, and you may also have the opportunity to be included in event pictures to showcase the Society work in the local media. We are looking for two enthusiastic Awareness Raising Volunteers- one to support activities across Luton and one to support activities across Milton Keynes. Please state which area you are interested in when submitting your application. The roles are community‑based and do not have a fixed location. Volunteers will attend a variety of events within either Luton or Milton Keynes, depending on the area they apply for. We are looking for a warm, thoughtful and organised Dementia Adviser to join our supportive team in The Western Trust Area working 35 hours per week. You will work closely with people living with dementia and those who care about them, providing ongoing support. You will listen carefully, understand what matters most to each person and offer guidance that helps them feel steadier and more confident as their situation changes. Your days will be varied and meaningful. You might be visiting someone at home, offering calm reassurance over the phone, or working closely with GP surgeries and other professionals to make sure the right support is in place. We operate a triage system for new referrals and you will play your part in making sure people are responded to quickly and thoughtfully. This role pays particular attention in delivering our CrISP programmes which offers informal training for carers. You will manage your own caseload, keeping clear and accurate records, while always seeing the person behind the paperwork. You will be part of a caring and dynamic local team who share ideas, reflect together and support one another. There will be time to meet as a team and opportunities to keep growing your knowledge of dementia, with your manager and colleagues alongside you. About you You will have: An understanding of dementia, or a willingness to learn about the experiences of people living with dementia and those who care for them. Experience providing information, guidance, advice or emotional support - this could be from health, social care, community, voluntary, customer service or other people focused roles. You will be able to listen and communicate, with the ability to build trust and rapport with people from a wide range of backgrounds. The ability to manage your workload effectively, with appropriate support and tools, and to balance competing priorities. Confidence using IT systems to maintain accurate and confidential records. Do you want to deliver content that inspires people to support the strategic aims of the Alzheimer’s Society? We are recruiting for a Campaign Partnerships Manager to join on a fixed-term contract for 12 months. This is a home-based role, working full-time, 35 hours per week. As Campaign Partnerships Manager, you will play a key role in the Alzheimer’s Society’s ambitions to drive major policy change across England, Northern Ireland and Wales. You will work to ensure that our influencing and campaigning priorities are delivered through some of our most exciting partnerships and outlets, including our Mail Metro Media partnership. You will be responsible for identifying, planning, generating and delivering influencing content that furthers our policy calls, whilst aligning with the wider strategic aims of the organisation. As part of this, you will foster highly effective internal relationships with key stakeholders to deliver integrated activity and content. You will work collaboratively and strategically with other managers to determine how our partnership content complements other influencing activity, whilst also contributing to work translating complex policy into public messaging, with a specific focus on bespoke messaging for the partnerships. In this role, you will identify and build relationships with external spokespeople and storytellers, spotting opportunities for new angles and content that allows us to maximise the impact of our media partnerships for our policy objectives. You will identify and develop content that is impact-focused, with an instinct for when to engage mass audiences. Key to the success of this role is engaging others in delivering policy change, sharing robust evidence and stories that inspire people to contribute towards our objectives.

    About you Joining us, you will combine experience of working in a complex policy environment with highly effective written and verbal communication skills. You’ll be able to develop press releases, media statements, op-eds and other communications with the aim of translating complex policy data and documentation into engaging and accessible copy/content. Crucially, you’ll be able to work in collaboration with others, using your experience of successfully building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You’ll have good attention to detail, with the project management and organisation skills required to meet deadlines whilst ensuring you produce quality, impact-focused content. What you’ll focus on: Developing and delivering a strategic integrated communications plan to assist with influencing content showcased through the Mail Metro Media partnership. Developing, generating and overseeing the execution of high-quality influencing content, in line with our policy and influencing objectives and agreed organisational priorities. Working collaboratively with teams across Evidence, Policy & Influencing and the wider organisation to spot opportunities for new angles and content that supports Evidence Policy & Influencing to maximise the impact of our organisational partnerships, in furtherance of policy change. Acting as the point of contact for the Evidence, Policy and Influencing team for enquiries relating to the Mail Metro Media partnership. Coordinating and developing a ‘live’ content plan of influencing focussed evidence, op-eds and stories that we can feed into organisation wide content plans.
