Clearance: Must be eligible for SC ClearanceKey Responsibilities:Support software configuration, packaging, and deployment tasks across critical defence platformsMaintain and manage source control tools such as Git and BitbucketContribute to automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Batch scriptingApply patches, manage Group Policy, and improve system cybersecurity across Linux and Windows environmentsTest deployments using virtual machines, with final delivery to physical secure hardware platformsCollaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure compliance with security hardening standards and configuration quality processes
Qualifications
Required Skills:Hands-on experience with SCCM (Mandatory), and Windows PowerShell, or Bash scriptingExperience using tools such as Bitbucket, Artifactory, JIRA, and GitAwareness of certificate chain processes, and SElinux hardening practicesStrong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work proactively in a small teamRequired Qualifications:A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplineOR a relevant technical military background with equivalent hands-on engineering experienceMust be eligible for UK SC Security Clearance (See Below)Desirable Skills:Exposure to quality and lifecycle toolsExperience implementing unit testing frameworksPrior work on virtualised defence platforms and secure deployment pipelinesFamiliarity with secure IT systemsSecurity Clearance RequirementUKSV (United Kingdom Security Vetting) clearance is required for this role, with Security Check (SC) as the minimum standard, either already held or with a willingness to undergo the process.
Some roles/projects may require Developed Vetting (DV) clearance; while not mandatory, a willingness to obtain DV clearance would be beneficial.
As part of the onboarding process, candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS); details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website (GOV.UK - Government Baseline Personnel Security Standard).
