Interpret and work from engineering drawings, technical specifications, and approved method statements with accuracy and confidence. Carry out inspections, pressure testing, and produce clear, reliable QA documentation and as-built records. Coordinate daily activities, materials, equipment, and site logistics to maintain programme momentum. Identify technical issues early, propose practical solutions, and escalate design queries when required. Maintain strong communication with project engineers, site managers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment and smooth delivery. Champion safety and compliance, promoting best practice and maintaining a tidy, controlled working environment. Support continuous improvement by contributing ideas, highlighting efficiencies, and mentoring less experienced operatives. Requirements Proven background in utilities installation (water, fire, irrigation) within a civil engineering or construction environment. Demonstrable competency in electrofusion and butt-welding of PE pipe systems. Experience supervising teams or leading work fronts, with a focus on quality and safety. Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan ahead, coordinate resources, and manage multiple tasks. Confident communicator able to work collaboratively with engineers, managers, and site personnel. Understanding of site safety protocols and relevant certifications (CSCS, EUSR, Water Hygiene) advantageous. Comfortable working in a hybrid capacity: combining hands-on technical delivery with supervisory responsibilities.
