AkzoNobel Wood Coatings is looking for an Account Manager for the UK market. AkzoNobel Wood Coatings focuses on the furniture and carpentry industry with the Sikkens and AN WOOD brand as central. Together with a motivated team, we represent these brands to our customers.  What will you do? 
    • You ensure that sales targets are achieved by maintaining and expanding existing customers and building new customer relationships. 
    • You represent the interests of the relationships, provide support and provide advice. 
    • You identify, plan and develop new customer relationships in line with the business strategy. 
    • You visit existing and new customers at least 50% of the time. 
    • You identify developments in the market, provide feedback about your experiences to the organization to improve customer satisfaction. 
    • You work closely with the Technical Sales reps. to provide customers with optimal technical advice. 
    • You work closely with the Customer Support department to optimize deliveries to customers. 
    • You systematically analyze your customer data to optimize your own portfolio. 
    • You work together with other departments of AkzoNobel Wood Coatings to successfully implement projects in the market. 
    • You report to the Sales Manager of the Benelux. Profile: 
    • Commercial experience in sales positions, preferably with a proven track record. • Independent relationship builder and maintainer, who thinks from the customer's needs to arrive at optimal advice. 
    • Strong communication skills and knows how to convince customers to close the deal. 
    • Experience in the furniture and carpentry industry is a plus. 
    • Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and a CRM system.

    Job Purpose Join our Manufacturing team in Felling as a Production Manager, where you’ll lead and continuously improve production operations at the site. You’ll ensure all processes are safe, efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with AkzoNobel’s HSE, quality, and operational excellence standards. This role is pivotal in delivering daily output targets, managing a large production workforce, and driving a culture of continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
    • Manage daily production operations to meet demand and quality targets.
    • Accurately manage, track, and report all departmental productivity KPIs on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
    • Establish performance standards for production and lead process confirmation and embed continuous improvement culture.
    • Develop individual team members and build a team capable of achieving the task; establish and enforce minimum personal performance level within Production.
    • Manage individual and team performance in line with AkzoNobel processes, stimulate talent management and identify and develop talents with growth potential.
    • Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, Environment & Security (HSE&S) standards, acting as Site Incident Controller and Duty Manager as required.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, OEE) to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Lead and develop a team of 6–10 direct reports and over 50 indirect reports, fostering high performance and engagement.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Planning, Engineering, Quality, and SHE teams to ensure smooth operations.

    Join our Engineering team in Felling as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician, where you’ll play a vital role in maintaining plant and equipment to ensure maximum uptime and safe operations. You’ll carry out preventative maintenance, fault finding, and repairs, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across our busy production site. Key Responsibilities
    • Implement statutory inspection routines and preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
    • Diagnose faults and investigate root causes of repeated breakdowns, implementing permanent solutions.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to install and commission new equipment.
    • Ensure all maintenance work is accurately recorded in our CMMS system.
    • Complete work within agreed timescales and in compliance with safety standards.
    • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance performance.
    • Work with and assist contractors as required. What We’re Looking For
    Essential:
    • Electrical and Mechanical trade qualifications (minimum NVQ Level 3).
    • Experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role, ideally within a COMAH chemical facility.
    • Strong diagnosis and fault-finding skills.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Strong health & safety awareness and ability to work safely under recognised codes and practices. Desirable:
    • HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
    • Previous experience on a COMAH site.
    • Knowledge of motors, pumps, valves, gearboxes, conveyors, palletisers, and filling lines.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
