Its in-house engineering capabilities include design, customisation, installation, flight-testing and certification, as well as technical support, maintenance, training and the supply of spares for civil and military applications. br /span span br /span span AHUK is the MoD rsquo;s chosen provider of helicopters and maintenance for its No.1 Defence Helicopter Flying school (referred to as MFTS) located in RAF Shawbury (Shropshire) and RAF Valley (Anglesey). br /span /p /div div h2 /h2 ul li Description/Overall purpose of the Job /li /ul /div div h2 /h2 p span AHUK has an exciting new opportunity arising as the result of a new contract to support aircraft for the MoD located in Brunei. The aircraft are engaged in a variety of tasks and will need to have maximum availability for the customer. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in aircraft engineering in a challenging and dynamic environment. Your contribution will be key to the success of the contract and the operational capability of the customer. br /span /p /div div h2 The initial on-site duration Brunei is expected to be until 2028 , with potential for extension /h2 ul li Main responsibilities /li li Ensuring aircraft are prepared for the days flying activity /li li Line maintenance activities /li li Participation in base maintenance on site in Brunei /li li Defect rectification and fault diagnosis /li li Production duties on site as and when directed by the chief engineer /li li Flexibility will be key in this role and there will be on-call periods, as well as early starts with early finishes or at times late starts and late finishes /li li Knowledge and Skills /li li Essential /li li Experienced aircraft engineer with extensive experience in rotary /li li Pragmatic and flexible but with a keen attitude towards safety and regulatory compliance /li li Good knowledge of part 145 regulation /li li Methodical in approach to engineering problems with good fault diagnosis abilities /li li Able to work closely with the customer and build relationships to achieve objectives /li li Education, Qualifications or Training /li li Essential /li li UK CAA Licensed Engineer /li li Type rated on the H145 BK117 D-2/3 helicopter /li li Military training or civilian apprenticeship/qualification in aircraft maintenance /li li Knowledge of CAP 562 Leaflet B40 /li li About you * /li li Positive and upbeat when faced with challenges that might faze others /li li Competent engineer that backs themselves and gains the confidence of their peers and supervisors /li li Comfortable in unusual environments and willing to make the best of any situation /li li Addition* al requirements * /li li Due to the nature of this position, you will require DBS Security Clearance and be eligible for SC clearance /li li Applicants must meet any/all requirements of ITAR and Export Compliance Regulations /li li AHUK reserves the right to close any advertised position at an earlier date /li li You will be required to work onsite in Oxford, UK for a period of up to 4 months to complete AHUK training prior to deployment to Brunei /li /ul /div div h2 /h2 p span We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response. br /span span br /span span After this date the applications will then be reviewed, Feedback will be given and Interviews will be arranged.
