Grow here.  Are you ready to join a team of talented ecologist’s and shape the future of the environment? Join our dynamic Nature team as a Senior Ecologist in our Dublin and Belfast (though other locations may be considered), and benefit through our flexible hybrid working model. At AECOM, we’re at the forefront of innovation, delivering an exceptional portfolio of Ecology programs and projects through long-term partnerships with key clients.Current projects include renewable energy and active travel schemes, and residential developments. We are working with clients to implement a Biodiversity Net Gain approach to their projects, and support local planning authorities with Appropriate Assessment of Local Development Plans.  Presently, we are working on a wide range of projects, including:Major infrastructure projects, especially in the renewable energy sectors.A range of other projects which are helping to create a better world, including river restoration/flood management schemes, active travel projects, and urban regeneration. Here’s what you’ll do: Actively support the health, safety and well-being of the team and other colleagues;Support the preparation of high quality and commercially astute bids and tenders for ecological services, notably in the energy, defence, and water sectors.Plan, schedule and organise all phases of ecological project work, ensuring necessary resources, budgets and controls are in place to meet both programme and budget requirements;Support delivery of high-quality ecological consultancy and advisory services to both internal and external clients, including through our check and review processes;Support development of technically robust and pragmatic solutions to complex ecological issues;Communicate effectively and professionally with other members of the ecology team, within projects and with clients;Support production of ecology chapters for environmental statements and protected species licence applications;Author or technically check project deliverables to ensure high quality outputs;If you're passionate about innovation and turning bold ideas into reality, AECOM welcomes you.     Qualifications

Grow here.  Are you ready to join a team of talented Ecologist’s and shape the future of the environment? We are looking for an experienced Senior Aquatic Ecologist to join the Aquatic Ecology Team at AECOM. We have multi-disciplinary offices throughout the UK, and you would play a key role in providing technical expertise and undertaking surveys for new and existing projects, as well as in the continued growth and development of our team.You will join a growing, friendly, and highly motivated team, and contribute to a diverse range of project, these include the Environment Agency and Natural England, Water Companies, renewable energy projects, nationally significant infrastructure projects, and many others. We deliver a diverse range of projects, such as: baseline data collection and monitoring for major infrastructure and utility projects, fish passage and weir removal projects, fish rescue and translocation, water quality monitoring for regulators and the private sector, pollution response surveys, drought monitoring – the list goes on!  Here’s what you’ll do: Providing aquatic ecology input into EcIA, planning, mitigation, and multi-disciplinary projects;Authoring technical reports and working with multi-disciplinary teams to provide specialist input;Undertaking data analysis and processing;Production of EcIA documents in line with CIEEM guidelines;Managing aquatic ecology  input into projects, including survey design and costing;Playing an important lead role in a team of multi-skilled aquatic ecologists in AECOM’s nationwide offices and laboratories;Supporting the wider environmental business. Come grow with us. Become part of our dynamic Nature business, which boasts around 230 professional experts including national and global leaders located across the UK&I, from species licence holders to experts in impact assessment, habitat creation, freshwater ecology, ecosystem restoration, enhancement, and management.     Qualifications

    Here’s what we’re looking for: Understanding and implementing industry standard monitoring techniques and analyses for aquatic ecology and associated consenting/permitting requirements;Familiar with legislation relating to the aquatic environment and its implementation, including the Water Framework Directive (WFD);Experience of the EcIA/EIA process, from baseline data collection (desk-based and field surveys) to impact assessment and mitigation design;Experience of WFD compliance assessment;Full UK driving licence. We celebrate diversity, including neurodiversity, and believe it enriches our team.
