    Activate Learning are now looking for Sports Teachers to join our established teaching team at our Banbury Campus.
    We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and passionate individuals with the ability to inspire, so that our sports students have a memorable learning experience. With your excellent subject knowledge and practice skills you will work collaboratively with our existing team of talented and passionate teachers to ensure we plan and deliver purposeful practical and theory lessons up to level 3.

    This is a fixed-term, part-time role working 26 hours per week (FTE 0.70) based at our Banbury College campus. This contract ends in July 2026.

    What do you need to be successful Sports Teacher at Activate Learning?

    We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work. Whilst previous teaching experience or qualification would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the qualifications to teach on our Sport and Fitness courses and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.

    • A level 3 qualification in Sports is essential.
    • Experience of sports coaching, sport therapy or working in the sports/fitness industry is desirable, but not essential
    • It is desirable if you have a teaching qualification and worked within education as a teacher, but this is not essential

    Your communication and interpersonal skills will be outstanding and support your ability to deliver interesting and purposeful lessons to a diverse range of learners. You will also have strong organisation skills coupled with the ability to prioritise workloads and will benefit from being part of a supportive team, working in a varied and interesting role with a variety of opportunities for career development.

About the role: Equine Shows and Events StewardMerrist Wood College are expanding our Equine Shows and Events team and are looking for a team member to join us on a casual basis as a Steward. You will support with the running of the equine shows, provide guidance and direction to competitors in warm up arena where you may have direct contact with horses.Merrist Wood Arena has an excellent reputation within the industry for running well organised, successful events and we attract all levels of rider from grass roots to professional. We run a number of events throughout the year, which include:Unaffiliated and Affiliated Show Jumping and dressageClear round jumping and arena eventing competitionsExternal clients hiring the venue for shows and demonstrationsWe have one of the largest indoor riding arenas compared to other colleges in the country and one of the top centres in the South East and have stabling for over 35 horses. We were also a pre-Olympic training venue for the London 2012 Olympic Games.Members of the Shows and Events team are involved in all aspects of running a successful show from set up of arenas, stewarding, writing for judges and clearing away at the end of the day.     About the role: English TeacherActivate Learning are looking for enthusiastic and inspiring GCSE English teacher to join our team based at our Banbury College. You will be responsible for teaching learners studying GCSE English Language. This post provides an excellent opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential.Additionally, you may also be asked to contribute to the development of the curriculum and resources for GCSE Language, Literature and A Level English. As well as participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and school events, and support extracurricular activities or clubs related to the subject area.This is a permanent, full-time role working 37 hours per week based at our Banbury College.What do you need to be successful as an English Teacher at Activate Learning?We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work. A genuine interest in working with and developing young people is a requirement. You will have experience in GCSE delivery and teaching.Previous teaching experience in the FE sector would be an advantage, but it is not a requirement.
