This is a newly created opportunity for a - part or fully qualified - tax professional to take ownership of the group's tax compliance and reporting activities, whilst acting as the key point of contact for auditors, external advisors and regulatory bodies. Reporting to the Group Reporting Manager, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the business meets all statutory, tax and regulatory obligations, whilst driving continuous improvements across tax governance, reporting and compliance processes. The Role As Tax Lead, you will be responsible for managing all direct and indirect tax matters across the group, ensuring compliance with evolving legislation and supporting strong financial governance across the organisation. Depending on your level of experienced, full support will be provided from this experienced team. Key Responsibilities * Lead all corporate tax compliance activities, including the preparation, review and submission of tax returns. * Manage the annual capital allowances process and ensure accurate reporting throughout the year. * Oversee VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), Machine Gaming Duty (MGD), Climate Change Levy (CCL), PSA submissions and other indirect tax filings. * Prepare and review tax disclosures and notes for inclusion within statutory financial statements. * Act as the primary contact for external auditors on all tax-related matters. * Manage relationships with external tax advisers and HMRC. * Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess the impact on the business, making recommendations where required. * Support HMRC reviews, regulatory inspections and wider tax initiatives across the investment portfolio. * Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks, governance standards and regulatory requirements. * Contribute to group reporting and consolidation activities. * Drive improvements to tax, compliance and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. * Support finance systems development, automation projects and reporting enhancements. * Provide support on ad hoc finance and business projects as required.
