They sort out the items that fail to meet the quality standards and enhance the production process to reduce the chances of failure. /p p br /p p Responsibilities and duties /p p br /p p The key role and responsibilities of a Quality Control Inspector are: /p p br /p ul li br /li li Carry out quality assessment measurements of all the products ready to be shipped and incoming raw materials, including metrological and visual assessment. /li /ul p br /p Operate the CMM, experience with Aberlink software ideal, but experience with PC-DMIS is an advantage. p br /p Take a thorough look at the plans, specifications, and drawings to understand the product requirements p br /p Reject all the incoming raw materials which fail to meet quality expectations and report the issue promptly. p br /p Resolving quality-related issues and adhering to deadlines p br /p Assist the QM in designing an efficient quality system and protocols which can be used across all company needs p br /p Prepare documentation of the inspection process, which includes detailed reports and performance records p br /p Recommend improvement measures to the production process to ensure quality control standards are met p br /p Guide the production team about the quality control issues to enhance the quality of the product p br /p Assist the Head of Quality with KPI data and monitor customer satisfaction levels p br /p Monitor the production phases at various levels p br br /p p Education /p p br /p p Educational requirements of quality control inspector function: /p p br /p ul li br /li li They must have at least secondary education, achieving high school certification grades. /li /ul p br /p Real-time experience in an engineering domain is preferred, but not essential p br /p Excellent documentation and presentation skills p br /p Knowledge of Microsoft office and SAP/MRP systems p br /p Good organisational skills – self learning and able to work autonomously. p br br /p p Certification /p p br /p p The inspector doesn’t need any certification to have a progressive career in the company. But having one will surely demonstrate your professionalism and competency at the workplace. /p p br /p p Candidates aspiring to grow in the company can undertake additional training and learning – such as City Guilds or CQI. /p p br /p p On the job training by shadowing the QM is a key to learning and understanding needs and requirements. /p p br /p p Skills /p p br /p p The successful candidate needs a combination of soft skills, technical skills, and certain qualities: /p p br /p p Communication /p p br /p p Quality control inspectors possess proficient written and verbal communication skills to find their requirements. At times, they may have to write protocols to the concerned department. /p p br /p p Organizational skills /p p br /p p The inspector should possess strong organizational skills to perform product review and inspection. /p p br /p p Physical strength /p p br /p p Quality control inspectors should be capable enough to stand for a longer-durations. They must be able bodied as lifting is usually a daily task for inspection purposes. /p p br /p p Technical skills /p p br /p p The quality control inspectors should possess strong knowledge of the type of equipment and computer programs used adhering to the safety guidelines of the organization. They must also know technical documents, manuals, and product engineering drawings to ensure products meet the quality standards. Instruction and guidance will be given on a frequent basis. /p p br /p p Training skills /p p br /p p The quality control inspector may need to train other employees for some specific processes and procedures.
