As the business continues to grow, they are looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to help drive new customer acquisition and revenue growth. The Role This is a consultative new business role focused on identifying opportunities, engaging senior decision-makers and developing long-term customer relationships. You'll be responsible for generating new opportunities, running discovery conversations, mapping stakeholders and managing complex sales processes through to completion. This is not a transactional sales environment. Customers are investing in outcomes, not products, and success comes from understanding business challenges and developing the right solution with the support of technical specialists. Alongside new business activity, you'll inherit a small portfolio of existing customers, providing immediate opportunities for growth and relationship development. What We're Looking For We're interested in speaking with commercially driven B2B sales professionals who have experience selling solutions rather than products. You may currently be working in technology, telecoms, SaaS, managed services, business services, workplace solutions, engineering, facilities, professional services or another consultative B2B environment. The entire process, from concept to finished machine, is carried out in-house in the UK to ensure the highest quality of the final product. Example projects for 2025 include industrial furnaces, turbines, compactors, and pulping machines. We're looking for a Sales and Business Development Manager with the technical knowledge to understand complex customer problems and have the commercial and engineering knowledge to suggest practical solutions. This is a remote role, working from home and meeting clients as needed. However, to apply, you need to live in the North-West of England. About the Role of Sales and Business Development Manager This is a fantastic opportunity for you to take ownership of the sales process from day one. Until now, all generated leads have been handled by third-party sales agencies, but the firm is now looking to bring this function in-house. You will have the freedom to implement sales processes and systems that have proven effective for you in the past, including CRM, inbound marketing tools, and outreach strategies. You will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities on a global scale. Your success in this role will be rewarded with the opportunity to grow your own team and become a member of the senior leadership team. What we're looking for We need someone with a background in mechanical engineering who has experience selling bespoke engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will have the technical know-how to meet with clients, understand their challenges, and then work with the internal technical team to develop and quote a solution. This is a role that requires resilience and self-motivation . You'll be managing your own sales pipeline using a CRM system that you will implement, so you'll need to be organised and proactive. In Return, You Will Receive A competitive salary of £60,000 to £70,000 , depending on experience. A commission/bonus scheme to be agreed between you and the company with a realistic OTE of £100,000 25 days of annual leave , plus Bank Holidays. A company car and a pension plan .
