Sitting within the analytics team alongside our analysts and analytics engineers, you'll own content analytics end-to-end, from instrumentation through to the insight that changes editorial strategy.Build engagement measurement beyond readership. About 9fin9fin is the AI platform powering global debt markets — the world’s largest asset class at over $145 trillion.Debt markets are vast, global, and mission-critical, yet still run on fragmented data, PDFs, and manual workflows. 9fin replaces this broken infrastructure with a single platform that centralises proprietary credit data, deep analysis, and high-value workflows across global markets.Today, 9fin powers teams at 300+ blue-chip institutions worldwide, including global banks, asset managers, private equity firms, law firms, and advisors. The business is scaling at exceptional speed, with rapid expansion in the US and best-in-class retention driven by deep workflow adoption. We’re at a defining inflection point. With proven product-market fit and strong, global market pull, 9fin is accelerating toward becoming the category-defining platform for debt markets worldwide. The Opportunity9fin has built one of the most comprehensive datasets in credit and debt markets: news, financials, cap tables, instrument data, legal documents, and ESG analysis. Today, most clients access that data through 9fin.com. But a large and growing segment of the market wants to consume our data programmatically to power firm-level workflows at scale: a negative news signal triggers an automated credit review, updated financials trigger a portfolio rebalance, a covenant keyword triggers a sanctions flag. These buyers (quant desks, data engineering teams, systematic investors, risk and compliance functions) will never log into a web application. They need APIs, data feeds, and cloud-native delivery through platforms like Snowflake. At comparable financial data providers, this distribution channel represents 20-30% of total revenue. 9fin is at the beginning of this journey. The challenge is to turn 9fin's integrated dataset into a portfolio of standalone data products with a coherent commercial strategy. You will define how the data gets packaged (what goes together, what stands alone, how it's tiered and priced), the order in which products go to market, and the commercial models that fit each buyer segment: quant desks, data engineering teams, risk and compliance functions, and systematic investors. You will work in lockstep with the Head of Pre-Sales, who owns technical validation and deal execution, to ensure that what you build maps to how these buyers actually evaluate and procure data. The first candidates pan news content, financials and cap tables, instrument data, and legal data (complex, high-value, and genuinely unsolved at the data representation layer). You will work cross-functionally across our platform teams, analytics engineering, and the domain squads that own the underlying datasets. You will also work closely with Sales to support a fundamentally different GTM motion: solution-selling with partner clients, joint POCs, multi-stakeholder deals, and usage-based commercial models rather than seat-based subscriptions. This is a 0-to-1 build. If you have built API or data products before and want to do it again in a market where the opportunity is wide open, this is it.What You'll DoProduct Strategy & ExecutionDefine the product vision and strategy for 9fin's external data distribution: APIs, data shares, and future delivery mechanisms (cloud sync, pub/sub).Own the data catalogue decisions: which datasets to expose, in what format, through which channels, and in what order, balancing client demand, data readiness, and commercial potentialDesign the developer experience end-to-end: API design, documentation, developer portal, sandbox/playground, error handling, rate limiting, and versioningWork with analytics engineering and domain teams to define schemas, data models, and transformation logic that make 9fin's data consumable and valuable outside the applicationUse a partner model to validate early: select and work closely with 1-2 clients during development to co-develop and prove out each data product before broader launchShape the commercial model for API products: packaging, tiering, usage-based pricing, distribution controls, and entitlement structures that capture the value of programmatic data accessData Quality, Infrastructure & CompliancePartner with the Head of Analytics to ensure data products meet the reliability, freshness, and accuracy standards that enterprise clients building automated systems expectDefine SLAs for data delivery (latency, uptime, completeness) and build the monitoring and metering infrastructure to back them upOwn the entitlements and access control layer: ensuring the right clients can access the right data under the right contractual terms, with appropriate usage limits and controlsWork with Legal to define data usage policies, including restrictions on redistribution, AI training and model embedding, and onward use, protecting 9fin's data IP while enabling legitimate client workflowsEstablish feedback loops between API consumers and domain teams so that usage patterns and client requests improve the underlying data over timeCross-Functional Leadership & GTMCoordinate across platform engineering, analytics engineering, domain squads, and the Head of Analytics to align priorities and ship a cohesive product without a dedicated squadInfluence teams you do not manage; build relationships that make cross-functional delivery work despite competing prioritiesSupport the shift to a solution-selling GTM motion: work with Sales and Customer Success on partner selection, POC design, technical onboarding, and commercial structuring for API dealsEngage directly with enterprise clients and their technical teams during pilots and integrations; this is a client-facing role, not a back-office oneCommunicate strategy, progress, and trade-offs transparently to leadership, engineering, and commercial teamsTranslate technical API and data infrastructure concepts into language that non-technical stakeholders (Sales, Legal, Finance) can act onWhat We're Looking For5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years building API products, data platforms, or data distribution products at a B2B companyExperience designing APIs for external consumers: you have opinions on schema design, versioning strategies, rate limiting, and what makes developer documentation actually usefulTrack record of shipping data products where you managed the full lifecycle: from defining what data to expose, through schema design, to commercial packaging and client onboardingUnderstanding of data infrastructure concepts: data pipelines, warehouses, ETL/ELT, data modelling, and platforms like SnowflakeComfortable with SQL and Python and capable of interrogating data to validate quality, understand usage patterns, and inform product decisionsExperience working in a solution-selling or partner-led GTM model: you have been involved in POCs, pilots, or co-development with enterprise clients, not just self-serve product launchesProven ability to lead cross-functionally without a dedicated team: you coordinate across engineering, data, and commercial functions through influence, not authorityStrong commercial instinct: you understand how enterprise data buyers evaluate providers, and you can shape a product that competes on data quality, coverage, and ease of integrationClear communicator who can translate between technical and commercial audiencesNice to HaveFamiliarity with credit markets, debt instruments, or how buy-side/sell-side firms consume financial dataExperience with Snowflake data sharing, marketplace listings, or similar cloud data distribution mechanismsExperience building entitlements, licensing, or access control systems for data productsUnderstanding of data licensing, redistribution terms, or AI usage policies in the context of enterprise data productsBenefitsCompetitive, market-benchmarked salaryPension with 7% company matchingPrivate medical insurance, paid sick leave, income protection, group life assuranceSeason ticket and cycle-to-work schemesHybrid flexibility with up to 3 months annual work abroad25 holiday days plus local public holidays (exchangeable)One-month paid sabbatical after 5 years; With proven product-market fit and strong, global market pull, 9fin is accelerating toward becoming the category-defining platform for debt markets worldwide. The OpportunityThis is a high-ownership, high-visibility role at the heart of a finance function that is scaling fast. As FP&A Manager, you will own the planning, reporting, and business partnering work that keeps 9fin’s leadership informed and its commercial decisions well-grounded.You will work directly alongside the Senior Strategic Finance & FP&A Manager and sit at the intersection of finance, commercial, and operational teams. This is not a role for someone who wants to process numbers in the background. You will be expected to form views, tell the story behind the data, and challenge assumptions — while building the infrastructure that makes the finance function faster and sharper over time. You will join at a moment when the FP&A function is still being shaped. That means genuine scope to influence how we plan, report, and partner with the business — and real opportunity to grow with the role as 9fin scales. What You’ll DoPlanning & ForecastingSupport the annual budget and rolling forecast processes — coordinating inputs across the business, stress-testing assumptions, and producing a consolidated view that reflects commercial reality.Build and maintain robust financial models that support scenario planning, headcount modelling, and long-range forecasting.Translate financial plans into actionable targets for commercial and operational teams, ensuring the budget is understood and owned beyond the finance function.Continuously improve forecast accuracy by refining methodologies and incorporating actuals analysis into future cycles.Support board and investor reporting cycles with modelling, narrative, and presentation preparation.Reporting & AnalysisOwn the headcount and financial model and lead report creation for the ELT — turning the numbers into clear, decision-ready narrative.Produce variance commentary that goes beyond the numbers: what happened, why it happened, and what it means for the business.Design and maintain KPI dashboards and reporting frameworks that give leadership real-time visibility into the metrics that matter.Track and report on SaaS metrics — ARR, NRR, CAC, LTV, churn, and cohort performance — ensuring finance and commercial reporting are aligned.Partner with the Finance Systems Lead to ensure reporting infrastructure is built on clean, timely data from source systems.Support the build-out of investor-facing outputs as the business approaches future milestones.Business PartneringSupport business partnering across commercial, product, and operational teams — building relationships, developing financial insight, and adding value beyond the numbers.Understand the sales pipeline, analyse revenue performance, and help the business make better decisions.Support hiring decisions and headcount planning with clear financial analysis, working with Talent and functional leads to track actuals against plan.Provide ad hoc analysis and decision support across the business — building the case for investment, surfacing risks, and identifying opportunities.AI & AutomationThis is a core part of the role — not a nice-to-have. We want someone who is genuinely excited about what AI and automation can do for a finance function, and who brings that energy into their day-to-day work.Use AI tools actively and practically: to accelerate reconciliations, automate recurring analyses, clean and validate data, and turn manual processes into repeatable workflows.Partner with the Finance Systems Lead to identify and embed automation across the FP&A function — from data ingestion to report generation.Bring a point of view on AI-powered FP&A tooling — whether that’s planning platforms, forecasting assistants, or BI tools — and contribute to the evaluation of future investments.Share knowledge and good habits with the broader finance team, helping build a culture of smart, tool-led working.About YouThis role will be a strong fit if you:Have a strong foundation in FP&A, ideally built in a SaaS or high-growth technology business where you’ve had to move fast and think commercially.Have an AI-native working style. You use AI tools day-to-day to sharpen your analysis, automate routine tasks, and do more with less — not just in theory. Are fluent in SaaS commercial metrics and understand the business model dynamics that sit behind them — ARR, NRR, churn, cohort economics, unit economics.Build models that are clean, well-structured, and actually used by the people they’re built for — not just technically correct. Can tell a clear story with data. You write crisp variance commentary, build accessible dashboards, and present confidently to senior audiences. Are a natural business partner. You build relationships with commercial and operational stakeholders, ask good questions, and add value beyond the numbers. Are comfortable operating in ambiguity, managing competing priorities, and delivering to deadlines without constant direction.Communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders — as comfortable discussing methodology with the Control team as presenting to the CEO.Are intellectually curious, self-motivated, and genuinely excited about building a finance function that operates ahead of the curve.Nice to HaveExperience with or a view on dedicated FP&A and forecasting platforms — ideally having evaluated or worked within one.Exposure to investor relations or fundraising processes, and familiarity with the financial narrative that supports them.Compensation & BenefitsFinance & InsuranceCompetitive base salary Equity optionsPension with 9fin contributing 3% (employee contributions are uncapped)Private health insurance with dental and visionTime Off25 vacation days per yearLocal public holidays (with option to exchange for alternative days)Hybrid working modelWork abroad for up to 3 months per year1-month paid sabbatical after 5 years of serviceEnhanced parental leave and flexible working arrangementsGrowth & CultureProfessional learning and development budgetBi-annual team socialsSummer and Winter company-wide eventsLocation: London (hybrid)9fin is an equal opportunities employerAt 9fin we are dedicated to building and promoting a fair and inclusive workplace where everyone can reach their full potential and truly belong. With proven product-market fit and strong, global market pull, 9fin is accelerating toward becoming the category-defining platform for debt markets worldwide. What you’ll work onYou'll sit at the core of how 9fin builds our product; turning behavioural data into the decisions that shape our roadmap. Working alongside another product analyst and our analytics engineers, you'll own product analytics end-to-end, from instrumentation through to the insight that changes what we build.Own North Star Metrics across product squads. Define, sign off and implement NSMs for each product team end-to-end, from metric definition with PMs, to dbt models on BigQuery, to Omni topics and dashboards that become the source of truth.Build and own product data models. Author and maintain dbt models, tests and docs that turn raw event streams into reliable, reusable product datasets, and own the Omni semantic layer (topics, metrics, dimensions) so stakeholders trust the numbers.Own instrumentation as a governed product. Design and maintain the event taxonomy, embed a tracking spec into every PRD before build, and partner with engineering to reconcile front-end (Amplitude) and backend events so data is trustworthy by design.Drive post-launch, retention and activation analysis. Diagnose how features land — measuring adoption, retention, time-to-value and activation by persona, using Amplitude, SQL and Omni to turn findings into clear recommendations.Be the analytical partner to Product. Embed in discovery and PRDs, define success metrics, size opportunities to inform prioritisation, and translate ambiguous questions into analysis that drives roadmap decisions.Answer high-impact ad-hoc questions. Rapidly investigate usage, segmentation, funnels and data-quality issues for product, leadership and commercial stakeholders.Connect product usage to commercial outcomes. Move from user-level to account- and seat-level analytics — breadth and depth of adoption, seat/licence utilisation and champion engagement — to surface account-health signals and product-qualified accounts that predict renewal, churn and expansion, in partnership with our GTM analytics.Establish a fit-for-scale experimentation and causal-inference approach. Pragmatic methods suited to our sample sizes (Bayesian readouts, holdouts, pre/post and quasi-experiments, guardrail metrics), and the judgement to know when to triangulate rather than A/B test.Apply predictive modelling where it drives action. Churn and expansion propensity models that feed commercial and product decisions.Raise the bar on AI product analytics. Measure and improve the quality of our AI products (AI Chat, AI Research Grid) through resolution, feedback loops, cost-per-query and AI-specific retention.About YouYou're a hands-on, senior individual contributor who thrives on owning product analytics from instrumentation to insight, and on turning ambiguous product questions into reliable data products that change decisions.Proven product analytics experience, ideally in a fast-paced B2B SaaS or fintech environment, with a track record of driving product impact through analysis.Expert SQL for complex analysis, optimisation and building reusable analytical datasets.dbt & a cloud data warehouse (BigQuery, Snowflake or similar) — commercial experience building and maintaining production models, tests and docs.Modern product analytics tooling. Deep proficiency with Amplitude (or Mixpanel), including designing event taxonomies and conducting behavioural, retention and funnel analysis.Modern BI with an integrated semantic layer. Hands-on experience building intuitive, self-serve dashboards and owning metric definitions (e.g. Omni, Looker, Thoughtspot).Metric design & governance. Owns single-source-of-truth definitions for core product metrics and builds validation so they can be trusted across teams.Strong communicator who turns complex analysis into concise narratives for executives and operators, and drives decisions through structured storytelling.Strategic problem solver with the autonomy to resolve ambiguous, high-impact challenges and continuously improve data processes and documentation.Bonus: Python for deeper analysis and modelling (pandas/numpy, simple ML); experience tying product usage to commercial outcomes; experience measuring AI/LLM products. Our benefitsWe’re a scaling start up, and we enjoy sharing our success, when the company succeeds, we always reinvest that in our people.
