    Job Summary
    As a Shunter/ Fueller you will be responsible for fuelling, parking and cleaning up our new fleet of state of the art buses.     Main Responsibilities
    Responsible for ensuring all vehicles are fuelled and that engine oil levels are checked each evening Keep records of the amounts of fuel and oil issued to each bus Responsible for keeping the relevant work area clean and tidy and to clean up spillages in accordance with Metroline’s Health and Safety policy and procedure Responsible for washing exterior of all buses by use of automatic bus wash and to wash wheels and skirt panels by hand Responsible for shunting buses around in the garage and parking vehicles according to garage plan Sweeping and cleaning the interior of the buses Maintaining records and documents as required by Metroline Manchester To undertake daily checks on the condition of the mechanical equipment used Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of company vehicles to a high standard using mechanical, electrical and manual cleaning equipment. Externally this includes bodywork, wheels and windows etc. Internally this consists of ceiling panels, light units, windows, ledges, side panels, cushions and frames, floor, stairs, drivers cab etc Any other reasonable duties as directed by management that lies within the scope of the jobholder’s responsibilities

    Utilisation of specialist cleaning equipment such as compactors, carpet sweepers and so on following training and induction.
    Ensure all waste handled appropriately and in accordance with our waste management strategy, reducing contamination and ensuring all waste is placed in correct containers.
    Proven experience in a supervisory role within the cleaning & waste management industry.
    Physically fit to meet the demands of the role including standing for long periods, walking and manual handling of waste.
    Knowledge of waste management principles, regulations, and best practices.
    Proven organisational abilities & time management skills, with the capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
